Works as advertised but fully plastic construction flexes under just a pound or two of weight. Wouldn't hold up anything much heavier than that. This item would benefit from stronger/metal bracing.

My son uses Mainstream with his Mac as a guitar rig for sounds. We bought a nice stand for the laptop but needed a secondary tray for the interface. This worked out perfectly as the pictures indicate. It’s plastic but it’s fine. The interface isn’t very weighty so it holds up no problem. Size is actually larger than I needed so it’ll hold the interface as well as his phone should he need a place for it. It was fairly easy to set up and fit the stand as intended.

Having tried a few different options this shelf works as expected. It holds a reasonable amount of weight as I tested it at home prior to use. I left a full bottle of water in the cup holder, a few decks of playing cards stacked on the edge of the shelf, a mic in the holder and a guitar pedal (simple reverb pedal, maybe 6-8oz) in the center over night. Nothing moved the next day (actually late afternoon, forgot to check earlier).Be sure to tighten the clamp well and make a habit of checking before each use like any other gear setup.I'm writing this to help out other musicians in need of a quick effective solution that just works and is fairly priced.

This is used to hold an iPad while reading or listening to music. It is easily mounted and conveniently located for use.The clamp is large enough to fit on the top tube of a music stand but too small to mount on the bottom tube. It’s slightly shaky but there really isn’t any reason to be concerned that it will fail.
