Review: Universal GPS Speedometer HUD Digital Car Speed DisplayI recently purchased the Universal GPS Speedometer HUD Digital Car Speed Display, and I have to say, it has truly transformed my driving experience, especially with my older vehicle where the speedometer was notoriously inaccurate. For less than $20, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and range of features this tool offers.First and foremost, the installation process was straightforward and user-friendly. I appreciated that it is an external tool, making it easy to set up without any modifications to my vehicle. Once installed, the digital display is both sleek and modern, adding a touch of style to my dashboard. The readability of the screen is exceptional, even in bright sunlight, which is something I struggled with on my original speedometer. What really impressed me was the accuracy of the GPS-based readings. The speedometer gauge updates in real-time, giving me an accurate MPH/KMH reading at all times. This feature is particularly invaluable when driving in areas where speed limits are strictly enforced, as it helped me remain aware of my speed and avoid any potential tickets. The over-speeding alert is an excellent addition that provides an extra layer of safety, alerting me if I go over my set speed limit.Beyond just speed readings, the device also boasts additional features that are surprisingly useful for the price point. The customizable settings let me switch between different units of measurement, and the simplicity of the interface makes it easy to navigate through the various options.Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this GPS speedometer HUD. It not only solved the problem of my faulty speedometer but also enhanced my driving experience with its cool design and functionality. I’d definitely buy this again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive, reliable, and stylish speedometer solution. If you're dealing with an uneven or broken speedometer like I was, this gadget is a fantastic fix!

Absolutely love it works really well I needed one after putting bigger tires on so I know how much my speed changed. And it works so well. Very accurate and it remembers your settings when the car shuts off.

Not really a HUD that reflects data off the windshield. This can be used in a vehicle, golf cart, scooter, bicycle or boat. However I don't think it is water resistant, so you have to protect it from water and rain. This GPS based item is probably more accurate that the speedometer in the vehicle.First and most importantly, the unit has no internal battery. It only works off of 5 volt USB-C input so you must have power available. Any disruption of power will make it reset, and it will have to sync again with the GPS satellites. The time clock is synced automatically. The display is very bright and can be easily seen, unless the sun is shining directly onto it. While the display has a variety of different color options, it has only one brightness setting. While changing the LED colors mitigates this somewhat, it still tends to be too bright at night.

I obtained this device for use in an older vehicle in which the speedometer works intermittently. I had been using an older navigational GPS device, but it is much larger and less flexible in its placement. This device serves my purposes, but could benefit from a few improvements:• First and most importantly, the unit has no internal battery. There is an icon of a battery in one of the listing images, which I incorrectly assumed meant that there was an internal battery. While lack of a battery makes it potentially smaller, lighter, and cheaper, it makes it far less convenient to use because it must always be plugged in to a power source with its concomitant power cord and associated inconveniences.• Because of the extreme lightness of the unit, is cannot simply sit on the dash without some means of attachment, which you will need to fashion yourself.• The “buttons” are really just portions of the plastic housing which can be deflected to press on a switch on the internal circuit board. Actual switches with some tactile feedback would be nice, would last longer than flexing plastic, and would not create a gap where dust, water, or even small insects can easily get inside the unit.• While the display has a variety of different color options, it has only one brightness level. While changing colors mitigates this somewhat, it still tends to be too bright at night.Still, overall, I like this little unit. It is functional and accurate, and provides an easy way to add a speedometer without tearing apart the dash. I love the concept but the implementation could be better.
