So what I use these for is storing different ID badges in stacks. I took the paper cards out, and you can plop in any CR80 sized cards in there (ID sized). We print ID badges for a big hospital system, and need something to close the top, as to keep dust, crumbs, and other contaminants away from the cards before they go into the badge printer. These work GREAT for this, and fit nicely. I can fit a stack of about 200 cards in these. The only thing I think needs to change is the front should latch. I taped the front shut so it doesn't call open.

Exactly what I needed. Sturdy enough for my purposes to refer to my business cards occasionally. Black plastic with clear simple lift-up cover. The lid will lift to a 90 degree angle and remain open until manually closed. Holds over 350 business cards. I put a removeable wooden block in the back of the cards to fill the extra unused space for now. (see picture) The cards will not fall over when the space is comfortably filled. When open, the front panel will tilt forward to improve view of cards. I glued a wood piece 3 1/2" X 1 1/8" X 1/4" inside front panel so cards will not catch on the front edge of the closing lid. (See pictures for this easy fix.) The alphabetical plastic dividers slide on 2 small metal rods on the interior bottom edges of the case. The case does not require more than 8 x 4 1/4 inches of table space. No wasted space with this clean design. Cards are organized and the cover keeps the dust out. Love it!

I really like that the A-Z cards are attached to two rails on the sides, so they won't come out. And they are of good, thick quality. The box is fine and the cover works fine. The cards lay in the box - no rails or holes in the cards needed. The box is called a business card file, and I should have taken that name seriously because my collection of cards includes a good number of Rolodex cards from a previous system, and they don't fit. So I had to spend some time trimming the cards down to 3 1/2 inches wide and re-writing those that couldn't be trimmed without losing data. My fault, but it kept me from giving a 5-point rating.

I've been storing my cards in a small flip-type holder, along with overflow in a small cardboard box & more bundled with a rubber band. (I'm not in a business where I collect a lot of cards, but over time they just accumulate from restaurants, service contractors, etc.) I finally had it with the mess so I ordered a couple of these Universal 10601 Business Card Files & couldn't be happier! They are well-made metal boxes with a flip-up plastic lid & captive A-Z index/separator cards inside. Those are a thick cardboard & seem very durable. On one of the boxes I covered over the index letters with labels defining groups such as "Restaurants", "Auto Repairs", "Medical". etc. to facilitate easier filing - this works very well. Industrial quality - buy these once or buy others multiple times.

Sleek. Well made. This is strictly a business / calling card file system. The index cards have holes in both bottom corners and ride on metal rods like rails and the pitch offers the tension to keep them tight. Don't expect to use this for both standard Rolodex cards AND business cards. This will work in a regular everyday office or executive walnut desk fancy setting. Non obtrusive, neat looking. I bought 2. The sides and body are painted black metal. The lid is translucent plastic with full through metal rod hinge. The front and back panels are black plastic. I expect it to serve me for as long as I need to keep up with business cards.

I turn Pens out of exotic woods and sell them at Arts & Crafts Fairs/Shows. For each kind of wood I use (29 different woods so far) I have a card printed with a little information about it. I also have a small card for each style of Pen that I make, 12 of them, telling how to change the refill and what refill it takes, and cleaning and caring for the pen. I give a card for the wood and one for the style of pen with every one that I sell. I have a few other items turned out of exotic woods that I sell and I give a card for the wood that its made of too.Having cards for 29 different woods and 12 different pens means that I have a lot of cards to keep track of. 10 of each one makes 410 cards! The cards are printed on a business card so a regular index card file box is too big. But this box is ideal for what I needed. The only things I don't like about this file box is it isn't made very well. First thing the lid fell off of it right out of the box. Once I got the lid back on its hinge pin I found that the lid is warped out of square and wont sit flat on the box. The front of the box is made to tip out to make it easier to see the front cards, and it fell off right after the lid did the first time out of the box. It took a bit but I got it to snap back into place where it was supposed to be. The main thing that I don't like about it is the lid doesn't open back far enough to stay open. When you open it with the lid all the way up and back, as long as you don't move or disturb it, it will stay up. But the slightest movement looking for a card and the lid slams shut on your fingers. It could also use something or some way to latch the lid closed. With this you have to be careful or you will dump all the cards out. This is why I only gave it 3 stars. If it had some way to latch the lid closed, and if the lid wasn't warped and sat flat like its supposed too, and would stay open when looking for a card, then I would give it 5 Stars. On the plus side it does look nice with the smoked tinted lid. Its big enough to hold several hundred cards but small enough that it doesn't take up much room on the small table next to my cash box. I had a book type holder with plastic sleeves with pockets to put the cards in. It looked nice but was a pain to get a card out of its pocket. This file box makes it quick and easy to find the card needed.Overall for the quality of its build and the materials that its made of its a little over priced. Add the cost of shipping and that makes it quite expensive for the low quality of its make. But for what I needed it for and what else is available, not much, it works for me.
