Love these! They have enough stretch to make them move with you, but they are mostly cotton, so they hold up well. I bought a 5, but exchanged them for the 3. I had a bunch of these in a larger size, but needed new ones after loosing some weight. I had the old ones for years. The mid rise doesn't cut into you like some high rise styles can. The 5 inch length is perfect for people who aren't in their teens anymore, but don't want to wear Bermuda shorts. The cut is flattering if you are looking for something slim and form fitting, but with nice coverage. I will be buying more of these.

Really wear these shorts often. I have them in more colors. I am over 50 and these are a good length with nice pockets that complement the backside. A little stretch but shrink but do not look like stretch material. Mine sit lower on my waist which I like.

I have been buying these for years now and they wear well and wash well. Extremely comfortable and really nice fabric quality. I like the pockets and the versatility with those. I find the shorts to be flattering and durable. Some of the pair I have are four years old now and still look perfect.

Just got these out of the box, the fit is good. I ordered my usual size. As the pictures show, pastel pink undies do not show through one bit. I like the 4 pockets, the length, the classic fit. Not sure if I'll need to use them but I'm glad they have belt loops since the material is a very comfy stretch type. I would buy them again as needed.

I ordered size 33 thinking it was the same as a 33 waist. It turned out to be a size 5 which was a quite a bit smaller than a 33 waist. I wear a size 8 or 9. The size 9 is a little bit loose. A size 9 translates to a size 34 waist, that’s why I ordered these size 33.

The shorts fit very well. Problem is they are not styles or colored nothing like the description. The stitching on pockets is completely different and the shorts and stitching are all solid navy blue. They look more like school uniform shorts vs the picture. There is nothing vintage looking about the vintage indigo color.

I am a size 12. I ordered an size 11 and a13 and the fit elevens fit great . Very comfortable!Edit: January 15th, 2024they wear well, still look good, the navy ones are a bit faded from washing. I have the white, navy and tan.

These Union Bay Darcy Shorts are great. They have plenty of stretch - are a medium weight and are suitable for warmer climates. I am a size 8-20 AU and the size 7 fits perfectly. If you like your shorts to sit lower on the hip and a bit looser - then a size 8 or 9. You can stretch them out a bit which is what I do with my size 7 and they are super comfy. The pockets on the back really make your butt look great - and the slanted pockets at the front work well. They are very comfortable and are more of a low rise. Love these so much and will buy another couple of pairs. Money well spent.

Bear with me. You've got a master metabolism your whole life which keeps you at a glorious 120 pounds at 5'4" tall, until you have kids, and then suddenly you can't get below 135 pounds. Then you turn 40 and your metabolism completely stops, causing you to gain 25 pounds that you can't lose no matter what. Then the covid shutdown happens and you turn to pantry snacks and copious amounts of alcohol to deal with homeschooling your (of course incredibly awesome) kids, and come out of it two and a half years later having somehow gained another 30 pounds. Then your best friend says, "Let's go to Las Vegas for a girl's vacation!!" and you immediately say yes only to realize NOTHING in your closet fits, you haven't worn shorts in 5 years, and in your mind you're still a size 6 but in reality you know you're well into the double-digits. Just the thought of buying shorts (and wearing them in public) is terrifying.Despite the blow to my ego and the frustration of having to buy bigger clothes, I bought two pairs of these Union Bay shorts... one pair a size 11 (fingers crossed) with a 5" inseam and a second pair at size 13 (ugh) with the 3.5" inseam. Received both today and soooooo happy. The 11's fit a bit snug in the booty and perfect around the belly with some stretch, so sitting or standing they're comfortable. I'm glad I went with the 13's on the shorter shorts, because they're just the slightest bit baggy which is a more flattering look for my chunky legs. Highly recommend. Much happier to go with a well-established company like Union Bay than some of the non-brands that are always questionable. Love.

I can’t say enough good things about these shorts. Great quality and price. I bought them in every colour. They are very comfortable and fit well. I usually wear a size 6 and ordered a 5, fits more like a 6. I am short so I have rolled the shorts up, they look super cute either way. Accidentally put a pair in the dryer and there was no shrinkage at all!

Finally! A pair of shorts that I'll look forward to wearing. It is so hard for me to find shorts that are both flattering and comfortable...and appropriate. I feel dumpy in longer shorts, and I'm getting too old [50-mumble] for 3" seams. These 5" inch seams hit me mid-thigh and look right. Mostly, I like that the material is incredibly soft and has some stretch to it so it feels really comfortable. I also like that, although they fit well across the hips and butt, they are not tight around the thighs. [A look that doesn't work on me at all.] When finances improve, I'm getting at least one more pair in another color.Notes about sizing: I'm 5'4, 146 pounds, with "petite" proportions. I have a 35" waist but that's in part due to having enlarged kidneys. Still, based on that measurement, I ordered a size 15. I put them on and they fell right to the floor. [lol] So, I ordered a 13. [BTW, I was pleased that they actually came faster than expected.] As stated above, the size 13 fit me nicely across the rear and are not tight around the thighs. They are still a bit loose at the waist...not quite as tapered in at the waist as others I've tried. I read some other reviews that complained about that. For me, it's a good thing [my kidneys don't like to be crowded] and it's probably a plus for people who like to wear shirts tucked in, but probably not for someone that prefers a very tapered waist. The loose fit waist is the only reason I gave them four stars. Not a deal breaker but not a "perfect" fit.They are made it Vietnam, for those that like to know these things. They appear to be very well made. 96% cotton, 4% Spandex, machine wash cold, low heat tumble dry.One last note: the stitching details on the front pocket is not nearly as defined or obvious as it appears in the picture [black, anyway]. I am actually glad about that but thought I should mention it.Overall, very pleased. Will buy another pair.
