As soon as I saw the base changed color too I bought one. Bought 4. But still a big problem getting the protective paper off. Made a mess out of my thumb nails.

My 4 year old daughter loves this! She has the remote next to her bed and when she goes to bed she picks a color for the night. It's a little brighter when plugged in compared to battery powered but either way is plenty bright! Super easy to peel the film off on arrival. I will be buying more of this particular brand.
