This bug catcher kit comes as a set of 2, which is perfect for sharing! This kit comes with a very handsome looking bug container that has side latches and a neck strap. It also has a magnifier at the top. The kit also comes with a set of tools, like nets, forceps, and "scissor" catchers.My and and his friend had a blast with this bug explorer kit. We visited our local arboretum and the boys were able to collect all sort of bugs along with leaves and stuff.What I like about this bug catcher kit is that the lid to the housing can be opened and closed easily, and stays secured on the box. I've had other bug catchers before and the latch would not snap in place. But this one is top-notch and is perfect! My son is 7 and he still enjoys this type of play. He's loved it ever since he was a toddler, but not that he's older, he's seeing it through a new set of eyes! Great for little ones and elementary kids all around!Wonderful, good quality set! Highly recommend!

Got these as class favors for my son’s birthday. Very cute and he loves carrying it around. Easy to open the hatch but the full lid is held on by the same clips as the shoulder strap, so have to be careful if the toddler decides he doesn’t want the strap on it.The yellow piece on the magnifying glass pops off but can be easily put back on. The magnifying glass can be pulled up and down. The tweezers are unstable lol but the scoop is great. Size is good for bugs.

The containers are extremely small and the air holes in the top are really big, allowing some bugs to get out. My kids love finding bugs and looking at them, then releasing them. This set helps with viewing the bugs safely, the little "microscope" thing has zero zoom capabilities lol. but the kids like to pretend it works.The smaller bugs to tend to escape though the very large air holes in the top of the container, so I don't suggest you allow your kids to bring this into the house. Especially if you don't want small bugs running free in your home.The tweezers that come with it are very stiff and large, rendering them useless. I gave my kids a pair of old craft tweezers I had lying around.The other tool that is used to catch bugs fell apart and one was broken in the box, also useless.The net is OK though.All in all, I am on the fence with this item. The concept is great, but the quality is lacking in some areas. If the holes were smaller and the magnifying glass actually worked, This would be a great product and I would 100% order again... Needs a few minor tweeks.

At first thought, everything in this kit seemed either too small or too flimsy to tackle the task at hand -- hunting backyard crickets. Turns out that as the adult, it doesn't matter what you think! The kids really enjoyed each aspect of the adventure: capturing the bug under the net, carefully scooping up the entrapped bug in the scissor-capsule, opening the little latched door on the bug collection chamber, shoving the capsule inside and shaking free the bug, closing the hatch, then inspecting the catch with the looking glass. They could do it all day.Definitely worth the current asking price of $18 for the pair, and definitely recommended. Only grips are with regard to product quality -- under rough handling these things won't last more than a season or two. In fact one of the looking-glasses had the top "lens" (just a half-millimeter thick piece of acrylic) pop out within minutes of operation. I couldn't get it to go back it, but it's not important for the functioning of it.

Great for ages 2-4Fun for outdoor play!Nets are small - too small for butterflies, but great for lady bugs and caterpillarsI love the magnifier and the kids do too.The tongs are a great idea if the kids are squeamish, but still want to interact.

My little girl loves nature and exploring outside! She asked if she could get a bug kit, so this is one of her Christmas gifts. I love how it has so many little things to use for collecting nature creatures. It will bring her so many hours of fun looking for her "pets". They do look a little on the cheap side, but then again, they are not meant for heavy duty use either. So I can not tell you anything about longevity yet. That will have to be an edit for spring time. I also like the fact that there are two of them, so she can share one with a friend and have double the fun.

I got these for my neighbor’s boys. They like to catch things and release them. This has a bunch of different things for them plus the cages in a 2 pack. It’s a great value. The boys loved it. I recommend it.

Ready to use right out of the box.The lid on the Bug House is easy for little hands to open and close and keeps the bugs securely in the house.The kids were having fun catching bugs 5 minutes after the box arrived.The grabber tool works well, as well as the tweezers. The net is small and not useful, but the kids still play with it.The magnifier isn't great, but the kids love it and think it's amazing.After a couple of days I guess I can say that it's fairly durable and at $10 each a good value.
