The rectangular mats have a unique front drip zone lip that extends past the grill front to catch spills or splatters in the area that needs it most. GrillTex mats protect wood and composite decks and patios from grease splatter, juice drips, and dropped food. The shallow texture is easy to clean with a cloth and household cleaner or a hose. The 0.11" thick patio mats roll easily for storage when not in use. Use under pellet or wood smokers, gas and charcoal grills, and turkey fryers with a heat source at least 6 inches above the mat. The mat is not intended to be used as a heat shield or come into contact with direct flame. Embers and coals can burn a hole through the plastic matting. For the best fit, select the under-grill mat size that extends a minimum of 2-3 inches past the perimeter of your cooker. Good size for small grill (could be a tad bigger). Works great though, very good quality, material is thick. Easy to use. If I want to move grill it’s easy to move with the grill.

We use this mat for a purpose it wasn't designed for: It's a poop mat in our chicken coop. Chickens poop even in their sleep and the mat collects the droppings overnight. We hose the chicken mats off daily so it's important that they be easy to carry and clean. Because the GrillTex is light (7 lbs), easy to pick up folded in half with one hand, and easy to carry out of the barn to be hosed off, it does a great job in the role. It cleans up *very* well just by hosing it off and much better than our last mat (which was *not* a fireplace mat). It's a nice thickness and tough enough to resist the chickens' pecking at it, which ruined everything else we've tried. I can't tell how well it would protect grass or a wood deck from the heat of a fire pit, but putting it under a grill would definitely protect a wood deck.We like the mat so well that we're getting three more. One will go in the house to replace a different brand mat that we use in front of our wood stove to protect the vinyl flooring. The GrillTex will protect the floor from heat much better than what we have, and it will be far easier to clean by just wiping it down. We're also getting two more for the chickens, for their second roost area.

My original under the grill mat was some kind of material. It wrinkled, gathered leaves and dust and was almost impossible to clean. When I got this mat it was so much better and just what I wanted. It is large enough to go comfortably under our grill and catch any spills. It is easy to clean, looks good and and does not gather leaves or dust I can't just quickly sweep away. It seems tough and durable. I am very happy with it.

I decided to clean the interior of my bbq. I scraped, brushed and wiped the grease and food droppings and, even though I was being careful, I dropped some grease crumbs onto the mat. I was SO impressed by how quickly and easily the grease just wiped up off the mat. I used both wet and dry paper towels and the grease immediately came up no matter which towel I used. I haven’t had the mat long enough yet to know about its durability. I ordered this particular mat after seeing pictures and reviews of other mats. This one unrolled quickly and completely. I have it on a screened porch so it doesn’t get wind on it really, but it lays so flat and doesn’t kick up or blow up off the floor. It is thin enough to not be a trip hazard but thick enough to hold its form well.

I bought this for my husband’s grill. It’s great quality thick almost pvc material. We have a master built gravity 1050 and the mat provides great coverage. It is the perfect size for the grill as the mat is larger than the grill so it catches all the grease drips. It comes rolled up in a box so just unroll it and it is ready to use. You can easily roll it back up for storage underneath the masterbuilt when it isn’t in use.

Having tried a grill mat from a local retailer, my wife said that it was time to find a better quality mat. After reading the comments on this mat, I decided to give this mat a try.I received it several days later. I have to say that upon opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and thickness of this mat. I waited until the weather warmed up then I took the mat out to my patio and laid it out. It laid flat immediately with no problems. However, to err on the side of caution, I went ahead and waited a few hours to make sure that it was warm enough, and that it would remain flat on the surface. We put one under the grill and then I got another one and placed it under the smoker. My wife says it looks great and we are very happy with it.Pros: quality made, thickness is sufficient, and made in the USA.Cons: Nothing to report at this time

Well made and sturdy, it is plenty thick and will take a spill or a hot coal in stride.
