This is great for more thoroughly cooking bacon!I was concerned at first because it was smaller than the pan I was going to use it in, but that turned out not to be a problem. It needs to be re-positioned every little bit so it doesn't burn, so I'll move it around the pan in a star pattern and it works out great!It's well made and solid as a tank!Big thumbs up!

The structure of this is actually really great, and the diameter is nice and broad. It would be a perfect score in that it does a lot i really love: it acts as a leveled surface to press with from a center point. It’s made of cast iron and the handle is solid wood. It’s got a texture underneath that is a bit like grill mark in design. It holds things flat that might puff or curl while cooking.The minus is in that i still have to press down with all I’ve got to squish a burger patty flat to cook, and the handle is so smooth that any grease on it and it becomes extremely slippery super fast.I don’t regret it, I’ll use it for many things but i really hoped it would speed and help with the flattening aspect for making smash/crush patties easier, and didn’t expect it to try to slip out of my hand after using as a moderate weight. I’m mildly accident prone, the idea a cast iron anything could slip from my hands freely is a bit worrisome. But if you have strength to press and remember to use something to grab it with, it still does quite a lot.
