I liked the fact that it was real lightweight, and it folds up a real small so it’s compact

Trying to buy lightweight but decent price camping items for my son who is going into Boy Scouts. I’m thinking ahead to backpack camping along with the normal monthly campouts. He can’t exactly take an air mattress. We went to a normal campout and he said the pad was great. It folded backup nicely and easily got it to fit back in its bag. That’s a plus. Do I see my 11 year old taking the time to get all the air out and roll it up to fit in the bag? NO! So, might considered something else. But only because of that reason.

January 19, 2025:This sleeping bag is described as lightweight, waterproof and warm as low as 59°F. I tried it and it met those standards.I put about 2 teaspoons of water on the surface for a couple of minutes and it didn't soak through. After sponging the water up, the wet spot dried quickly (in low humidity). In a 58°F room, I pulled the zipped bag over my head and slid it to the floor. It quickly started to warm from my body heat. The temperature ratings are printed at the top of the bag as comfortable at 64.4°F with the lowest temperature protection at 46.4°F.Also printed on the bag are cleaning symbols. The bag may be machine washed in cold water using a gentle or delicate cycle. It may NOT be tumble dried. The drying symbol is somewhat obscure; none of the searchable laundry symbol guides included it. I used an image search to find it; drip dry flat in the shade. The size of the bag makes that impractical, but necessary to keep the insulation from shifting. The bag has useful features such as:• a Velcro tab which covers the top zipper so it's less likely to come unzipped from movement while sleeping;• a drawstring which allows tightening the opening to limit heat from escaping, and;• a zipper at the bottom if one wishes ventilation there. The lining of the bag is comfortable to the touch. It comes with a carrying bag to contain the sleeping bag; tightly folded and rolled. I like the bag and think it is useful for travel or emergency use.

I’m an avid camper, planning my outdoor adventures from late March until the end of November, so having this lightweight sleeping bag is perfect for me. I have multiple, heavier ones that are rated from the 40s down to zero degrees, but they are not very useful in late spring and summer. This sleeping bag has a temperature range from the mid-40s to the mid-60s, and should be quite comfortable on summer nights. I’ve found that especially in the national forests, temperatures run about 10 degrees cooler than in populated areas, so even in the summer a camper can get cold. This bag has the distinct advantage of unzipping it and turning it into a double-sized blanket if it’s too warm as a sleeping bag. You can also unzip the bottom so your feet can stay cool.I photographed the bag spread out on a twin-size bed, so you can see that it’s almost as wide and slightly longer than the bed. It also fits easily into its “stuff bag” with little or no effort. I weighed it on my kitchen scales, and in the bag, including the 4 compression straps, it only weighed 1 lb. 14.3 ounces. It’s a nice size, lightweight, and takes up virtually no space. It’s also machine washable which is an added plus. I’ve seen similar lightweight bags that have to be hand washed. I can’t see myself doing that.I haven’t camped out with it yet, but based on its texture, weight, and feel, I know I’ll get a lot of use from it this spring. I recommend the bag to other campers and outdoor enthusiasts.

I got this bag to add to my collection, which now includes 4 bags. 1. Teton Mammoth 2 person (HUGE, seriously), 2. 5ive Star Gear woobie sleeping bag (formerly my smallest, great bag), 3. Generic sleeping bag that is a bit too big and awkward, 4 This bag, which is my smallest and lightest now.First, the outer material is a good quality lightweight nylon which feels like a proper woobie. The inside shell is a soft polyester material that feels cozy. Filling is pretty thin and minimal as you would expect from a lightweight bag. The included compression bag is made of similar nylon material as the outer shell. It feels thin and flimsy, but I had an easy time rolling up the bag and stuffing it in, and it actually seems quite durable. Nylon can be deceptively strong, considering how it feels. Incredible value at the price. Just really be aware that this is not rated for actual cold weather, so use it for the appropriate seasons, or dress very warm. I recommend this bag for minimizing your load on a budget.EDIT: I used this bag as my only blanket on a cold winter night in my chilly bedroom, and man was it cozy. Like, actually surprisingly warm. I now love this bag even more.
