ULTRAGEL motorcycle seat gel pads offer the widest selection of motorcycle seat gel available today. ULTRAGEL gel pads have been formulated to give the "Sweet Spot" best balance of tactile and dynamic properties to maximize rider comfort. Soft enough to easily conform to body contours and to minimize bounce or resilience, yet firm enough to provide maximum comfort needed to support and stability to the rider. We've also optimized gel thickness so you don't pay for more gel than needed, but which really enhances rider comfort, compared to thin 1/4" or 3/8" pads. GEL THICKNESS MATTERS! DON'T LET ANYONE CONVINCE YOU OTHERWISE! All gel pads can easily be trimmed or shaped using a sharp-edged cutting tool such as scissors or Xacto knives, box cutters. They can also be easily contoured, cut or shaped with hot-wire or hot-knife cutters. IMPORTANT NOTE: These are INSERTS ONLY, and are not to be used as is for top cushions (unless you provide your own cover) for your motorcycle seating area. These pads are designed to be INSTALLED underneath the surface of your seat.

Quality product with a great product description worksheet. The detailed description, while not a guide to the overall prep and installation process, was thorough in it's description of how to effectively handle, cut and shape the gel pad. It went a long way in taking some of the angst out of the procedure.

OK, I do like this gel pad. I didn't buy it for a motorcycle seat, but for an office chair. I get pressure sores and thought this would help. It does make my chair just a little more padded and I do like that, but it does compress down and doesn't do me any good for my pressure sores. Still, I liked it so I decided to stick it to the vinyl seat, slip a fabric cover over it, and use it. It stuck to the chair very well. I liked that when I stuck it on it didn't move a bit. Unfortunately, after a few days, when I changed the fabric cover, I tried peeling the gel off. It peeled off just fine. Even though it didn't budge when I was sitting on it, it came off easily. Unfortunately, it had changed the color of the vinyl seat cover, making it paler and slightly wrinkly where it had been. I assume it was a chemical reaction, and it darkened and smoothed out after I used armor all on it a few times. I won't be sticking it to vinyl again, though. It is my intention to make a fabric seat cover with a waterproof pocket for this pad and continue to use it because it was comfortable, but I haven't done it yet.I think if you were using it for it's intended purpose, it would work well, but, because it didn't help my pressure wound or even make it more comfortable to sit on it, I deducted a star.

Fits a little bulky and increases the weight of seat but it's all worth it because the seat feels a lot better and for long rides is a blessing

I got this pad 18 months ago for my fat tad recumbent trike seat. Worked great and, to my great surprise, has held up really well. I ride most days here in the Pacific Northwest, regardless of weather. This pad is regularly exposed to water, salt, sand and road debris. It has not changed any of it's original properties. I reccomend it frequently and would purchase it again.

The gel is really nice! , easy to use... read the instructions and use some baby powder to make it less sticky.I tried to install it in a non destructive way, marking every piece I cut so I can put them back together.I did one layer and then I went for a second layer. I tried to put tape on the seams...but that makes every thing harder.I did the gel a bit taller than the foam so when I seat every thing is level. I don't feel any transition doing it that way.I recommended a double layer if you can do it...it's just better. I recommend doing a bigger area, there is enough gel for everything even if you buy the small sheet as I did. I used a 1/2 inch foam and plastic "film"/sheet before placing the cover... I don't feel any transition... the seat its better now. Maybe a thinner Foam like the one the seller includes is better than what I used. I may just try to remove the 1/2" foam on top. It was just perfect before I added the foam.Good luck!

I have chronic buttock and back of leg pain that makes it painful to sit on hard chairs, soft couches, and everything else. I tried many expensive commercial cushions including memory foam and gel grid, before experimenting with various foam wedges at my local upholstery store. The wedges are better than full thickness pads as they decrease the pressure on the back of the legs. Using two polyurethane foam wedges helped but I needed more. (One wedge is a 4" 1.8/24 density/ILD and the other is a 3" 1.8/36)By itself or on top of the two wedges, the 18 x 16 ultragel was much too hard. Putting it in between was much better and improved the comfort significantly. It makes the cushion heavier and a bit more awkward to carry but it's worth it.I also hope the ultragel doesn't get harder in the winter like memory foam does. FYI, according to the manufacturer, the highest temp the ultragel can withstand is 180 degrees.I'm giving it 4 stars because even though I’m still limited in how long I can sit, and the price will put it beyond the reach of many, it’s the only thing that has helped besides the wedges.

I purchased this to put into cut-out on the backside of an AllTurfMats golf hitting mat, to make it much more forgiving on "fat" shots when using my garage golf sim. It's working very well. I guess most buy this for seats (motorcycle, etc) and I'm sure it would be great for that too. It's the only time i've ever purchased a "gel mat" but it's what you would expect....squishy, tacky, and gelatin like...but...it does not leave residue on what it touches. Probably a LOT of uses for it. I only used half of it for my golf mat project, so i've kept the other half in it's shipping bag for someone else down the road.

Best item I have found for my son's wheelchair! My son is very prone to pressure sores. Not only is he in his wheelchair all day but both hips are displaced. He has a custom molded seat and it is hard to find anything that will fit in his seat. This pad is wonderful! It fits right in the seat and molds around his seat perfectly! Nothing will completely prevent his pressure sores but this pad is a tremendous relief for him! This is also half price from the gel pads one can find on wheelchair websites! I will be purchasing another one for his transport chair!
