I don't generally write many reviews, as I'm quite critical, but I want to shout out this excellent portable speaker. It's been extremely user friendly, far easier to set up and use the Bluetooth features than my previous Bose or JBL. The sound quality isn't as good as my $400 Bose, but for the discount I bought this at, it's perfect for my daily needs. I highly recommend it if you're in the market for a solid sounding, easy to use Bluetooth speaker under $200. You can't be at the quality for the price. I'll update the rating if this thing dies in the next few years, otherwise I'm looking forward to using this for some time.

After owning the Megablast I guess I was spoiled. This Megaboom is no where near the quality. Sound is just ok, distortion at high volume. They really need another speaker as good as the Megablast was.

The MEGABOOM 4 is everything I like about the UE Boom 3 and more! The sound quality is richer, it has slightly deeper bass, and the overall balance feels more refined when comparing beside each other. One key upgrade is the customizable multiband EQ, and USB-C charging!!! The biggest hassle for me was pulling out a USB-A mini cable and having to rearrange my power cords to charge. If you’re looking for the best audio experience Ultimate Ears offers in this form factor, the MEGABOOM 4 is a solid choice. The MEGABOOM 3 is still a great speaker, but if you want better bass and more customization, this is a worthy upgrade!

UE Megaboom 4 didnt say if it was new or not but They did not disappoint, was delivered in like 12 hours. That was the original selling point for me, reviews were mostly good but some negative ones about poor quality with super poor sound and holding no charge. This was my second order off amazon, first jbl was crap and had to return it so i took a chance on this one and it came and was like new. Still factory sealed, so were extremely happy!

I use it as a speaker for my Apple Music. Great sound! Easy to get it started. Very versatile, portable and light.

I have a number of bluetooth portable speakers and this one is my favorite for work. I found it easy to setup and pair. The app is a nice feature with the ability to turn the unit on or off. I was disappointed that I can't use the app with my Wonderboom 3. There are a number of Ultimate Ears speakers and they use different apps which is a problem since you can't connect them. What I really like is the volume setting as I use this speaker when working in the office and it has a volume level that is low enough that it doesn't interfere with conversations with colleagues, conference calls using a speaker phone, or my coworkers who are outside my office. The sound quality is terrific. The battery life is very good depending on the volume. The cable to recharge the unit is a USB-C style. The app allows the use the speaker like a bullhorn.

This is my opinion, and my view of Megaboom4. Opinions are BS, no one is obliged to personally take them. I read comments about how bad they are, specially if you pair more than one speaker in party mode. I also watched YouTube videos where the reviews are based on only one speaker, but so far mostly I've seen are megabomm3 reviews for some reason. When using one speaker, for me, the sound was good, but not so great. Sometimes I had minor, almost fainted chirping distorted sounds coming out the one speaker. The fix was restarting my phone. Then, I bought a seccond megaboom4 speaker.Adding a second Megaboom4 to the Firts Megaboom4 speaker, well, at first they sounded terrible, and it just confirmed what some youtube reviews where there claiming that the speakers can't pair properly. I heard in YouTube that the songs when played they keep skeeping the music back and forth, and that isinterrupts the songs badly. Yes, this is true, and the chirping static sound was worse with two of the speaker playing at the same time. I was like.. hmm,, yeah. They are bad, but was it worth buying them? So, I was disappointed, but i decided to turn off the speakers, and I restarted my cellphone..and then,, there you have it. Cristal clear sound, in double mod and even in stereo mod. They sound amazing both together, and my bet is that the more speaker you add they will sound better. If you plaxe yiurself in beween them speakers, the base is strong and powerful, and the tones and frequencies of the song played sound great to my ears, but this is my opinion. So, there you have it. No issues with blue tooth when pairing more than one megaboom4, and as for the chirping sound some youtubers and reviewing people talk about? Well, that's B$..*&^%.. don't belive them coz I don't belive them, and I am so grateful I didn't belive them. I recommend the Megaboom4, I paid 199$ plus tax Canadian dollars for each Megaboom4, but so what? They are a great traveling pair of Megaboom4 speakers for me.

In case you were wondering whether this speaker would fit in your bike's water bottle cage, the answer is, sort of. I needed to purchase an adjustable water bottle cage (I chose the Arundel Looney BIN CAGE BLK, which seems fine). The speaker is a little big and has some weight, so it may not be great for serious long rides, but it's perfect for a casual loop on a weekend. I assumed because it cost more that the sound would be better than the basic model, so i spent the extra $$$, but i have no idea if it's any better. The sound is pretty good, plenty of bass. If you're thinking of doing this, you could trade sound quality for size and fit and get the lower end model and it might fit in a standard sized bottle cage.

I have had many Ultimate Ears speakers and I love them all. they're durable and sound good and usually have a little clip so that you can bring them with you on a bike or on your backpack. They say that they are waterproof but I have not checked it to be sure, I'm too scared! However I often bring my speaker into the bathroom while I shower and the steam has not affected it so far. I also love that this line has a variety of colors, I love the lavender.

I found this speaker very unimpressive for the exhorbitantly high price. I expected a top end sound with depth and base. There was not. Sound was “tinny” and the speaker dramatically lacked any kind of bass. I tried multiple songs and music genres from my playlist. Comparing it to my $80 Bose Soundlink II and the Bose sounded as good if not better. This is just a fair speaker, nothing in particularly outstanding about it, tho you may like the app for controlling it. I returned mine within a half hour and went with the JBL charge for the same price. I expect that feelable bass and depth from that product. This Ult Ear product would be decent if it were priced at around $100, but no more.Update: As stated I got the CHARGE5 from JBL and it costs around the same as this one. BUT the sound was dramatically superior to the (not so) Ultimate Ears MegaBoom speaker for $200. I’m extremely glad I made the switch to JBL, I get nothing from them for this, except the all around higher quality sound with an appropriate amount of sub woofer to it.If you’re considering which one, then go with the JBL Charge of the Flip is a little cheaper but I do not have one of those. Speaking of cheaper, like I said before, the Bose Soundlink Color 2 is a great quality compact speaker for less than $100, that puts out a rich depth kind of sound. I was hugely disappointed with the Ult Ear, especially at that price point.
