I couldn't get it to work. I charged it with white. I didn't see anything from my tv remotes.

Helped me get the IR location beam on my safety sensor aligned.

Right out of the box it doesn’t do much. It absolutely must be charged first with a bright white source light. I used my cell phone flashlight on max, only took a few seconds. Also, typical IR remotes for TVs and related equipment aren’t going to show you much on these detectors as they modulate the IR output and at minimal amplitude because they use cells/batteries for power. So you end up with faint pulses. Any coherent or even quasi-coherent IR source will be bright and unmistakable.

This product will not detect infrared or other light sources such as remote control or laser not visible to the human eye.

I tested with multiple light sources across the claimed sensitivity range and it did not work with any of the sources. Complete fraud and even dangerous if someone was relying on this to check for presence of high power IR laser sources.

I didn't see any instructions and it doesn't work like others I've had. Perhaps it works in a it range different than TV DVD remotes. So far it is useless to me.

I tested this using multiple TV remote controls. Only one showed a faint green pulsating spot. It reacted better if the detector was first charged with a white led flashlight rather than a UV flashlight. I also used a 5mw 980 nm laser. The spot was very bright. So the response is IR wavelength dependent. Finally, the detector material is painted or glazed onto a ceramic strip. It is on key fob but I would not recommend carrying it in your pocket as it may break or the detector material is scratched of by keys or coins.

One star because I can't use zero. I purchased two of these. Neither one works. I tried several IR sources, with different wavelengths. Absolutely no indication of IR light whatsoever. I would like a Call Tag to return them and a refund ASAP.
