I got this for home use, we are not professional mechanics, but we have an older car that my husband maintains since it's easy to work on. Being able to check the brakes without removing the hub cap is really nice. Getting an accurate measurement is much safer than eyeballing it too. This is great to check the brakes before an annual inspection too, so you know if they'll pass. It's a handy little addition to our home mechanic tool box.

This tool is nice. It works get for a mechanic, who has to do multiple brake jobs a day. The only issue I found with it, is that the body is plastic, and will probably melt from brake clean. Other than that it works well, and it can get pad measurements, with out pulling the wheel on most vehicles.
