Dragon dice cups play

The first version has an embossed dragon motif in jelling style, available in brown or black

The eye-catching, beautiful embossing comes from the jelling or jellinge style, a Nordic art style of the 10th century, which is typically characterised by intertwined, ribbon-shaped animals with striped bodies, often depicted in profile. The motif (two S-shaped, interwoven dragons or snakes) has its origin on the famous silver cup of Jelling from the 10th Century, which gave its name to this particular Viking art style and is now part of the collection of the Danish National Museum in Copenhagen.

Thor's Hammer Mjölnir Viking

The second version features an embossed Thor's hammer, available in brown or black

The embossed Thor's hammer and the handmade decorative leather stitching make the cup something special.

Mjölnir (= the malmer) is the mighty hammer of Thor, the god of thunder, who is considered the second highest Norse deity after his father Odin. In Germanic mythology, the dwarf Brokk forged the Mjölnir and you could throw it without ever missing the target. Thor used the hammer to fight successfully against the giants who were always threatening the Wanen and Asen gods. Today, the Thor's hammer is a popular motif for jewelry, talismans and decorative items and is also an expression of paganism in a Christian environment.

Vegvísir Viking Compass Dice Cup

The third version is kept simple and has a lid with Vegvisir embossing, available in brown

The lid is decorated with a Vegvisir embossing and fits perfectly on the cup so that dice can be stored safely and won't get lost.

The vegvísir (signpost) is a magical sign or sigil (galdrastafir) of Icelandic origin. The first concrete representation of this symbol can be found in the Icelandic Huld manuscript by Geir Vigfússon from 1860, a collection of rune series / spells and sigils. The following is written about the Vegvísir: When that symbol is worn, the bearer shall not be lost in storm or wind, even if the path ahead is unknown.

Sauber verarbeiteter Becher. Ein schön anzusehen ungewöhnlicher Würfler.
