the light is bright and the phone holder is sturdy! i had no idea, but it comes with a button that you can use to take pictures from far away! it was easy to set up but a little storter then i had imagined. i’m not complaining though because i got it for desk top use!

I am very happy with my purchase. If you are looking for a lightweight, easy to assemble then look no further. I was happy to say the phone holder and sturdiness makes this a great buy. I am not able to records with proper lighting. No missing parts and power source remote avail. Great buy!

Functionally, good lightening and practical.

Honestly it was so easy to put together that I didn’t even have to look at the instructions(: It’s a decent price and it’s not flimsy at all for the low price that it is. Literally love it and so glad I got it I use it for my video classes. Only bad thing is it didn’t come with a charger head for the usb cable so that’s the only negative side is spending money to get a cable for the usb unless you have one at home luckily I did. Lights work good. You can adjust it lower or higher or change the light color there’s only bright white medium yellow and strong yellow. But u can press plus or minus to make the light stronger of softer. Phone holder works great. Definitely one of my best amazing purchases. The phone lays flat on there and if you like a higher angle view of your face you can adjust the light forward to do that effect which is cool. Love it!

I'm happy with this so far. I know almost nothing about ring lights, but I could see the benefit for online meetings, videos, etc. I was looking at models with a tripod that could possibly sit on the floor, and this desktop version. I reasoned that I would usually use this while sitting at a desk, so the desktop one seemed good. Plus, this has two tripod heights: a collar above the legs turns to allow for 2 heights.For using the light behind a laptop, there are so many different sizes of laptop, I will say that at the highest height, the bottom of the ring is 7-1/2" above the desktop, and the top is 17-1/2" above the desktop.Lowest height?: 5-1/2" above the desktop, and the top is 15" above the desktop. I would just use something to place the light on, to increase its height - like a couple of big books, etc. Most of the ring is peeking out from behind the screen in any case.I also thought that using the light with included the phone holder would probably eventually replace a lot of laptop work, so it's good for that too. (Holder fits my iPhone SE.) The brightness is PLENTY. I doubt I would use it at full brightness.I knocked a star off for a couple of reasons:1. The little remote is cool, but with my phone, (iPhone SE, iOS 15.3.1), it had limited capabilities. First, pressing the iOS button automatically starts shooting a video. OK. But then there is no way to stop shooting with the remote (not that I have found anyway.) So that's kind of bad, because you have to go back to the phone to stop. Then the phone would shake. Video editing would make that less of an issue.There is a package insert that says: "If your camera does not respond it may not be compatible. In this case, download the free app 'Camera 360' and use this camera app with the remote." I downloaded that, and it does work. This app is very much geared towards paid subscribers, but it can be used free. (The filters in this app are really pretty amazing, BTW.) This does work for using the remote for still pictures. The remote is just limited.2. Color temps. The controls on the unit for this are:-on/off-+ (brighter)-- (darker)- A button to cycle through the color temps.OK, so this is generally fine. For brightness, set it, and I probably would not change it too much. For temp, same thing, I would find the temp I like, and probably mostly use that. My comment is that there is no reference to show you what color you are on. And there are a few. In other words, if there were a name for them, like "daylight" I could dial that in without the guesswork. Again, not a show-stopper.Having a better remote, and color temp names, etc., would make the unit more expensive, so it's a trade off between value and features. This, for $25, is a entry-level light. Based on that, I'm happy with it. I would probably have paid even an extra $5 to have a fully functional remote:- iOS and Android compatibility.-Still photo.-Video, start AND stop.-Full capability to control brightness and color temp options directly from remote, with a way to identify temps. (This would allow for on-the-fly adjustments without having to touch the phone. That would be good because the phone would shake around is it is touched with in its holder.)For an extra, probably $1.50 per unit, they could probably do that better remote.(By the way, the remote does not control color temp or intensity.)

Even if you don't use the ring light much, the little hand controller provided to start/stop videos and take pictures from a distance is worth it itself. We had no issues pairing with a Samsung Galaxy s10. They have special instructions for Samsung phones, but we didn't need them. It worked just fine using the standard Android instructions.The whole system appears to be very well made. The base of the tripod has a rubbery, non-slip coating, and it's self explanatory where each pieces goes. They all attach smoothly, and it's tight. It doesn't feel like any part is going to loosen any time soon. The ac power adapter was nice as well, because I don't have to worry about batteries or recharging it. I'm sure a light that big and bright would drain batteries quickly.The light settings are easy to adjust - choose a temperature, then choose a brightness using the buttons right underneath the ring. As you can see, it can get very bright.The only complaint I have is that the system didn't come with a way to store everything when you're not using it. If you want to store in the boxes they came in you have to take everything apart, but even then they're not padded or anything. We'll have to find our own way to protect the light when not in use. Still would recommend it based on the quality of the product and the price.
