I’m using this so I don’t annoy my neighbors when trying to record my guitar amp at home. It works great and offers tremendous flexibility.

I upgraded from the first Torpedo Captor model to this one and coudln't be happier!The amount of features in this little box is impressive, the DynIRs are a step above traditional IRs, and pairing up with the noise gate, reverb, eq and twin tracker makes it such powerful tool for many different uses.Playing on headphones with the twin tracker on makes you feel like playing in an expensive room with great ambience. I like a lot the reverbs as I prefer to have them only on the PA system and/or in ear, but not coming directly from the amp and it enables me to do so.I see people complaining about the attenuation levels, but if you own a Master Volume tube head, you can have enough control over your volume.The iPad app makes super convenient to set it up at home!Also, if I can suggest, get the Friedman DynIR pack, it sounds great and will make your direct recordings sound great!Beyond the product itself, I had the chance to meet the engineers who designed this product at NAMM and they are really passionate about their products. It's a brand I'll keep following for a long time!

This is the best device I've found for silently recording your guitar or playing through headphones at night when the family is asleep and running metal tones through a 50 tube amp just won't be appreciated. Although limited, the attenuator function works well, with two settings that allow you to play at a lower volume through a cab. But where this unit really shines is through headphones or an audio interface where you can use the simulated cabs, microphones, and other effects to make some amazing tones. I'd highly recommend this...it's pricey, but totally worth it.

Perfect solution to tame a tube amp, record direct, or go straight tonfront of house with realistic sounding and feeling tone. 100% recommended. Easy to use pc and phone interface. Smaller and more user friendly than the UA ox box.

Bought it to play EVH 5150 III amp + EVH 5150 2x12 cab at bedroom level. It really sounds great. Exactly what I was looking for. I haven't tried its cab emulation capabilities yet.Before trying the Captor X I tried Universal Audio OX which sounds really bad at the lowest output settings. Compared to OX the Captor sounds way better at 2 times less the price.
