After going through two flimsy bunk beds in three years, this heavy-duty metal frame is a revelation! Bought this for my son's dorm but it worked so well we kept it for his apartment! The black metal frame looks mature enough for young adults. The 350lb upper limit handled his 6'2" roommate comfortably. The full-size bottom bunk is perfect when friends crash over. Assembly was easier than IKEA furniture - all holes aligned perfectly. This twin-over-full bunk bed transformed my kids' cramped shared room! The 54" height leaves plenty of space underneath for a study desk. I love how the ladder is removable - we switch sides depending on room layout needs. The 22 metal slats provide excellent mattress support without box springs. My teen says the upper bunk feels just as stable as a regular bed. Only suggestion: include rubber caps for the ladder feet to protect hardwood floors better.
