So as the title says, my Xp300's died after one year. From what I've been able to figure out, the bluetooth chip/board gave out for some odd reason. Only warning I had was a sizzling pop sound (when I tried to shut off the bluetooth and reconnect) and then the set died. It did start back up and worked flawlessly for about two hours, then I shut them off and let them sit for nearly three hours before going to use them again only to find that I can no longer talk on them. I tried replacing the mic like was suggested on most forums, but it did nothing to solve the problem. And since the headset is over a year old I can't send them back to Turtle Beach for repair (not that I really can anyway, because I'm an Canadian and Turtle Beach outsources all their repair work in canada, according to their website anyway). For the price of them they really should have lasted longer than just one year.

I bought this headset to replace my Turtle Beach X12 which had finally gone out on me after a little over a year of use. And to be fair, people had accidently stepped on it a few times and that headset was used for 10 hour gaming sessions sometimes so in all circumstances it help up well. But anyway, for the XP300, I've had it for almsot 2 months now and so far its been working great with just a few minor propblems but first I'll list the pros. The first good thing about this headset compared to the X12 is obivoulsy is that its wireless which was a god send 'cuz i cant tell you how many times ive tripped over the cords from that X12. Another good thing is that the battery surprisingy lasts for a good while, about 6-8 depending on wether or not I use the mic. It also still works when your charging it too so you dont have to wait for it to recharge. The next good thing is that its easy to set up, just hook up the cables, link up the bluetooth in the headset to the bluetooth adapter and your pretty much golden, its that simple. Another big pro for this one compared to the X12 is that lowering the chat volume actually lowers it this time, unlike the X12. And this one even changes the tone of the sound in the headset. Now as for the cons, I have a few problems that aren't major but annoying. The first is that the description said I could hook up my phone to the headset via bluetooth to answer calls and talk trough the headset. Well i tried that and my phone wont seem to connect at all to it, though i suspect it has something to do with my phone since i've researched this online and havent really found a lot of other people having this problem. The last problem I have with this headset is that sometimes the bluetooth adapter on the controller disconnets from the headset and I have to re connect. But due to it like only taking 5-10 seconds to reconnect it, its that that big of a issue. This one right here is neutral since this headset was my first wireless headset of any kind so I can't really judge this category very well. But I found the range on this not to terribly long, I would go to the kitchen to get a drink which is only like 20-25 feet at the most from my room which I game and sometimes the game audio cuts out. The chat audio and mic still come in clear but not the game audio. Like i said i dont know wether this is good, average, or bad range on a wireless headset so I cant say wether this part is a pro or con.Overall I think this headset is a pretty good upgrade from the X12, though if you want a little more, get the XP500 not the 400. The XP400 is identical to the 300. the only difference is that the 400 has a dolby sound processor. Thats it. So if you want more get the XP500. But anyway ya, espically since they lowered the price here on amazon down to $100 from the $170 its usally at because of the new Xbox One which doesnt work with these headset, its a good deal on this headset if you plan to keep playing on your 360 for at least the next 6 months. So my answer is buy this headset!

Headset Review:You are going to need this or equivalent: (The DSS 2 is probably better)However, I use mine on my PC/Laptop. I already had this: Either way, PC or Xbox - You have to purchase one to get good sound. I connected mine straight to my Bluetooth Connection on my laptop and it was Super Flat/Crappy. No options to adjust the audio either. The Creative TruSound Pro software really makes these things pop. I think the X11's are a bit louder, but these have a 50mm Driver and it handles Bass a bit better over the X11's which has 40mm drivers. I mainly purchased these cause I needed wireless. I can't really give a review when used with the Xbox 360 because I have such an awesome sound setup on my 72" Widescreen, I will never use these on the Console....I will always have these connected to my laptop. Tell you what, you can hear everything when playing Crysis 3 or Black Ops II. Footsteps sound far off, then next thing you know the enemy is right there on you....helps to identify which direction they are coming in at you. That's a HUGE plus. Very nice sound for wireless when listening to Dubstep/Techno. Pretty awesome set of headphones if you like the bigger earpiece design. Microphone is awesome. Other than my rant below on shipping. Highly Recommended.Amazon/UPS Shipping Review:I don't normally write reviews like this because usually I have a pretty good experience with Amazon and UPS. BUT. They have really dropped the ball one too many times. I'm a Prime Member, have been for a couple years now. I like the fact I can pay for Next Day Air Shipments at $3.99. It's all good on that end. However, I live outside Louisville Kentucky on the Indiana side. I for the life of me can not understand why a shipment like this would not leave the Amazon Hub from Jeffersonville Indiana, 5 minutes across town to the UPS hub that delivers to my house, and get this package to me on time. Nooooooo! We have to ship it from the Louisville Hub, all the way to Lexington Kentucky, back to Indianapolis in a snow storm 45 minutes north of where I live, and then send me a message that due to the weather, I will not get my shipment until Monday when it was paid to be delivered on Friday via Next Day. WHY DID YOU ALLOW THE PACKAGE TO LEAVE 60 DEGREE WEATHER INTO A FULL SNOW STORM ?????????? Seriously? You can't figure out all the man hours and fuel you could have saved when I live 20 minutes from your Hub Amazon? You just wasted your time, UPS time, and my time! If that is happening to me....it's happening to EVERYONE in the Louisville area because I use to work at UPS and I know for a fact you have shipments come out of your warehouse at the hub in Louisville, down to Lexington, back to Indianapolis.....which the only way to get there is to come back through Louisville.....and then back down from Louisville to Clarksville Indiana for delivery? How stupid is that???????? You need to refund my 4 bucks for shipment. It's only 4 bucks, but I can tell you, Next Day can cost anywhere from 15 bucks to 40 bucks and had I paid that price........I would be HOT! A lot more than I am now. There, I got my rant out about using UPS. Stop it...just stop it Amazon. Fed Ex would have given me the option to have my package delivered on Saturday at the latest. You know Amazon, I would not have placed this review out here for everyone to see....but you don't even give me any options in the email you sent me that the package was going to be late to resolve it otherwise. Which by the way. Indianapolis got like 3 inches of snow....I bet people in Colorado and Alaska are laughing their butts off at UPS right now for delaying a package over 3 inches of snow!!!!!! This sucks!!! So, for everyone else who usually enjoys my reviews.....sorry I am unable to do that for this product at this time. I can't because I DON'T HAVE THE DAG-ON THING. Peace out.
