I used this kit to make a custom jacket for my boyfriend for his birthday! Super happy with how it turned out. This was my second time doing reverse tie-dye and second time using this kit and I highly recommend it. I did use 2 out of the 4 bottles for this jacket alone, but it’s an XXL and also I did 2 stages of dying here—with the second stage more diluted which gave it some cool dimension.

This is a fun project for people that like to tie dye. The shirts turn out really cool.

I had trouble reverse tie-dying a dark gray shirt with bleach, so decided to try this. It did not work completely on the shirt. It lightened it in certain places, which still looks fun. I am not sure why this 100% cotton shirt could not be bleached. Since I am not sure if the product works or not, I deducted one star, as it was a good price for 4 bottles of product.

Couple of tips from my experience using this reverse dye kit so far. Overall one bottle of color changer allowed me to apply to 3 shirts of varying sizes (men’s small, large, and 3xl) and this kit comes with 4 bottles, so decent amount of use and value.Definitely use hot water to melt the powder solution. I brewed water in my keurig and it dissolved and mixed almost instantly (though be warned the bottle will get hot!)I recommend using a small tub or plastic container to keep shirts in while applying the color changer. This was super easy for me to clean up afterwards by rinsing out, and allowed me to apply the solution outdoors for ventilation.Lastly would work the solution in a bit with your hands to soak it through the folds, and keep an eye as the solution sets in for saturation and color preference. The shirt pictured was after about 15 minutes of soaking. As a side note, other shirts I applied in the same batch without pressing the solution in didn’t receive the same thorough coverage, and mostly had the bleaching only on one side (ie. whichever side was folded/banded out when applying).Quick and easy, definitely recommend!

I've been enamored with tie dye lately and I wanted to do something galaxy-esque but wasn't able to get the desired effect with the Tulip kits on white. Decided to try a reverse tie dye instead. Tried just bleach. Tried bleach - water mix. Tried bleach toilet bowl cleaner. Only got a little fading. Nothing that you could really see.Cue this kit. Saw the bleaching effect after 5 minutes and BOOM. Got my desired effect. Crisp lines. Almost white-like areas (unlike the common orange I was getting before).** All the crisp bleach marks on my shirts are from the kit. The more faded orange areas are from my previous attempts (best seen in the 3rd & 4th photos) **Will update if the re-dyes work well when I get time to do them.

Im not sure if this product was defective, when i used this ..it didnt bleach the fabric. I tried a different fabric, still didn’t develop. I ended up using dollar tree bleach instead, worked great.

I should have left it on longer but I got excited when I saw it was actually working. The more you worked the fabric with your hands the more the original black leached out of it, and I found when rinsing that ringing it out super hard caused more dye to rinse out with running water. I like to start off with a wet shirt because it works best when using colored dye, I’m not sure if it made a difference or not in this case. You need warm-hot water or the powder granules won’t dissolve I pretty much wasted the first bottle I tried because it didn’t actually mix with the water but that was operator error thinking warmish was gonna be hot enough. Oh well, live and learnDefinitely pleased with this product so far, household bleach didn’t do much of anything when I first tried to reverse dye, except make them faintly blotchy here and there. This definitely will work, but I think there’s a slight learning curve.

I ordered one kit and the seller didn't put it in any packaging, they just slapped a shipping label on the box of tie-dye and sent it to me. It didn't sustain any damage though. These dyes are just okay, basically powdered bleach that you mix with water. Using it triggered my allergies, so avoid if you're sensitive. It is pretty difficult to get the powder to mix well, even when using warm water and shaking the bottle for 10 minutes. Small bits of powder residue will probably end up on your project which may or may not affect the outcome. The bleach effect itself is not incredibly strong. I've seen people on YouTube have more intense results using toilet cleaners. Not sure which would be more toxic.

What a disappointment for the kids. We followed the directions to the letter. We dyed 12 items. One shirt had a small "orange-ish" tint on the sleeve, but that's it. What a waste of money and time!!
