This extremely strong and durable canoe trolling motor mount is constructed and designed with simplicity and durability in mind. The aluminum frame and clamps WILL NOT rust and can withstand both wet and dry conditions and all water types. The Double Block face is strong textured HDPE to create a grip tight surface helping eliminate slippage for secure motor mounting. Simply set the Motor Mount on top of canoe gunwales in desired mounting location. Loosen tightening knobs and slide to desired width. Fasten angle clamps underneath gunwale lip and begin to retighten knobs until secure sturdy fit. ALWAYS ensure tight secure fit before mounting trolling motor or motoring in canoe. This mount is pretty good for a canoe. Had it on a 3-person Kevlar canoe and it sat perfectly behind the back seat to where I was comfortable using it as an arm rest. The only issue I have with it is that the Transom is not thick enough for my trolling motor even when tightened down all the way. I would have to cut up a 2x4 woodened piece to make up for the space required for proper mounting. 4/5.

Very impressed with the sturdiness of the mount. I even called over to the company for additional clamps to clamp on a sub par out rigger I bought from another unnamed company (Lixada). Customer service was polite, helpful and best of all no phone tree.

I'll have to add something to the transom to make it work. With the thumb screws tightened all the way, the motor slides right off. If it had a little lip on the top like the Newport ones do, it would be perfect.
