Product Description

From the manufacturer

winter car Yacht ship inspection

The main function of this refractometer is to detect various antifreeze conditions.

Before the arrival of winter, the owner must remember to check the various liquids in the car. Qualified liquids in automobiles are essential for car safety to survive the cold winter.

If you have this refractometer, it can help you directly check the condition of the coolant, window cleaning fluid, Adblue, and battery fluid to determine if you need to replace these fluids to ensure safe driving, which will save you the cost of going to the automobile repair service.

You can also use this refractometer to configure a variety of liquids without buying the same high quality branded products.

The Refractometer is equipped with two scales for measuring of windscreen washer fluids, two scales for measuring of engine coolants , scale for measuring of battery electrolyte condition and scale for measuring of liquid additive AdBlue. The scales for windscreen washer fluids are under the „wipers icon“ – the scale on the left is designed for Ethanol + water mixture, the scale on the right (signed as SRF1) is designed for mixture Isopropanol + water.

The models have only one unit system: ℉. With the indication of the percentage we may know the freezing point of either ethylene glycol or propylene glycol based cooling systems. You can use it to check the temperature (freezing point ) of the condensation of your cooling water.

This product has been improved to a higher level of accuracy. The measured data is close to the ASHRAE standard. The new product adds functionality and can be used to measure AdBlue.

The unit can be used to check the proportion of battery fluid, instead of the use of hydrometer. Safe and reliable.

This product is used to measure the freezing temperature limit of automotive coolant. It is used as a tool to protect the car engine.

The instrument is resistant to abrasion and corrosion resistance. Can be measured acidic and alkaline and other general corrosive liquid.

Compensation temperature range: 50℉- 86℉

Calibration: Zero calibration with water close to 68 ℉.

Function 1: Measuring freezing point of automobile antifreeze based on ethylene glycol or propylene glycol(G11, G12, G13). Measuring Range: -60°F-32°F.

Function 4:Measuring Urea Concentration in automobile diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Measuring Range:30% to 35%

Warning-Maintenance:

1.Calibration liquids can use clean water. This product does not require frequent calibration. The temperature of the liquid to be measured should be close to the temperature of the prism to measure the data is accurate.

2.The instrument is resistant to abrasion and corrosion resistance. Can be measured acidic and alkaline and other general corrosive liquid. But we do not recommend measuring these fluids for a long time. The residue should be cleaned immediately after measurement.

3.This is an optical instrument. Do not need regular maintenance. But you have to be careful, the vast majority of damage is due to fall, which will cause the instrument difficult to repair.

Package included:

1 x Refractometer

4 x Plastic Pipette

1 x Mini Screw Driver

1 x User Manual

1 x Cleaning Cloth

1 x Storage Bag and carton

Diy antifreeze

Homemade Antifreeze Fluids

To make sure that your vehicle has the proper amount of antifreeze at all times.

Having a low amount of antifreeze can cause your engine to overheat or freeze up, so make sure to check these levels every 2 to 3 months.

DIY-You can use this refractometer to formulate antifreeze.

Save a lot your money and drive safely.

Homemade Windshield Washer Fluid

Homemade Windshield Washer Fluids

Method 1:

2 cups isopropyl alcohol, 1 cup white vinegar, 3 quarts water, 2 Tbsp liquid dish soap, 5 drops blue food coloring (optional)

Method 2:

Ethanol+ water.

 battery Liquid specific gravity

To Measure the Specific Gravity of the Battery Fluids

The lead-acid batteries require regular maintenance to function properly. We recommend checks every 2-4 weeks to keep the battery bank tuned up.

With this refractometer you only need to take a few drops of battery fluid.

Homemade adblue DEF

Homemade AdBlue /Diesel Exhaust Fluids (DEF)

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a non-hazardous solution, which is 32.5% urea and 67.5% de-ionized water. DEF is sprayed into the exhaust stream of diesel vehicles to break down dangerous NOx emissions into harmless nitrogen and water.

This is the best way to check concentrations. It is easy to use and is pretty durable.Be sure to buy the version for the type of antifreeze you are using.

Very easy to use and highly accurate for glycols. The scale is very visible and the tool seems durable for solid.

it does not rate fluid to a standard of composition-makeup- i think you know if you have solids in your DEF tank. i thought it would rate quality of mixture not measure contaminant solids-my mistake-

I was impressed at how easy it was to use, and much more accurate than the floating ball anti-freeze testers.

Excellent product for the money. One important thing to realize, regardless of which brand of refractometer you purchase, you must check the calibration before you use it. The manual mentions that it comes calibrated from the factory. Although they may have calibrated it before it leaves the company, it's easy for them to become un-calibrated through shipping. I've included a before and after picture. One represent how it arrived to me (un-calibrated), and the other is after I calibrated it. Calibration is incredibly simple to do.

works well and is a good compromise of cost versus value for user. For the home user it is less then what NAPA retails. OF course if one is a professional then get what will hold up to that environment. otherwise I would recommend it.
