I bought this hoe in 2023. It was advertised as having a white ash handle however, the one I received had a heavy duty fiberglass handle which was a great surprise as I will not have to worry about the handle rotting. I can move a lot of dirt with this hoe and it should last for a very long time!

This would have been a descent product if what is advertised is what is shipped. I got one with a fiberglass handle, and the metal blade cannot be removed to change or sharpen. It will not fit over the foam grip, also the metal blade is quite thin with many flaws/imperfections in the casting. I have other tools with fiberglass handles that are solid and rugged, this thing is a cheap, thin walled hollow handle. Not a strong or safe tool, both the handle and blade are likely to break. I am very disappointed because I have other Truper tools and they are heavy duty. Shame on Truper for producing this garbage!

Tough hoe, but even better than I grew up with in the ‘70s

We had some hardscaping projects in my backyard but didn't want to rent a backhoe... My father-in-law from Vietnam used this tool regularly in his country and asked my to buy one. I called every landscape and big box store in the area and most had never heard of it.Finally checked Amazon and was happy to find this item available. It wasn't cheap but the build is sufficient and it held up through numerous projects. He dug through rock littered, root filled, compacted clay and had no difficulty using the tool. We turned a hill into a 3 tiered retaining wall all thanks to this purchase. Much more efficient than a shovel. Also trenched a walking path around the backyard, which this purchase came in handy at times. Would recommend if you need to cut out dirt quickly!

We were at our home improvement store looking at the in stock garden hoes on the rack when a little man came up and recommended this garden hoe. He bought his locally, I ordered this one. When it came I had no idea how heavy it was going to be. When we went to the garden and dropped it in the heavy damp clay grassy soil, we realized we had a power tool in our hands. Typical garden hoes would not have pierced this soil, but with a lot of sweat and chopping, it chewed up the muck. The metal is solid and the edge didn't dull. The handle is sturdy and the blade never moved. Sharpening it will be easy as the blade just slides down the shaft. Great tool! Be prepared for a workout though!

I was apprehensive about purchasing this hoe based on some of the comments. First of all, it is NOT forged as many have said before me, the head is cast. That said, I took a file to the edge to sharpen it up a bit and have used it all season long in my garden without issue. We have fairly dense (clay) soil and have had no issues getting the weeds cleared and soil loosened. I do recommend this hoe.

I never thought I would pay so much for a garden hoe. Well, there are hoes and then there are hoes.At mid 70's and with a bad back, gardening is hard for me. *%@*. My little tiller quit running and can't afford to replace it. Took the plunge and ordered this Tru Pro Eye Hoe. Sounds like a song :-). Garden wasn't turned last year, so it was pretty well overgrown, especially with quackgrass.Picked up my new hoe, eyed up the patch of the worst grass (about 5' x 5') and started swinging. Holy cow, what a surprise! That thing is certainly not too heavy for this out of shape lady, but the head is heavy enough to cut through packed soil and grass roots. It was so awesome, I almost finished that entire patch! The next day I cleaned out that mess of roots and started on the rest of the grass. No, I did not turn the entire garden with the hoe (borrowed a tiller), but dug up most of the big weeds. The handle is long enough that I didn't have to bend and disable myself.Bottom line, I wish I had known about these tools years ago. BUT, glad to have it now :-)

Metal seems to be very strong. Have been using it for digging and it looks very solid. Hitting stones haven't damage the metal.
