Great gardening tool. It is strong and well built so it is a little heavy but not too bad. The others I bought eventually broke it's spikes.

I have a 5900 sq. ft Market Garden and so I definitely need some good tools. This particular tool has a pointed tip and is extremely heavy. If you don't want something heavy, avoid this, but I like the weight because it really gets down into the soil. Very sturdy and looks like it will last a lifetime.

Tight spaces; dense soil - don't be fooled, this thing is a monster of a hand tool.

Strong tool. Ideal for quick planting or turning up tough dirt. Versatile. Probably gets used more than all my other yard tools combined. I have a lot of heavy clay and soil with rocks, and this has exceeded my expectations. As multiple people have said, the three-prong side will trap wet or clumpy dirt. It's not a deal-killer at this price. Just know you'll have to get your fingers dirty cleaning it out sometimes.Had it four months now. Seems made to last. Very solid in the hand. Swings heavy - that's kind of the point - so if you have weak hands or wrists this isn't for you.

The Truper 32739 14-Inch Rapid Tiller is exactly what I was looking for. In fact, this product may be underpriced at $21. My other 3 prong cultivators always bent or broke on tough roots or the occasional buried rock. But this is a very well made tool and should last a long, long time even if it's your work horse. The head is solid metal and will not bend or break unless you try something way outside the box. Some reviewers don't like the prong/tine ends because they're not pointed. However, this tool is just as good because they have tapered edges. The only thing that could make it not the best tool for you is the heft or weigh. It is a solid 2 pounds, which feels heavier raking through dirt. But if you're a guy looking for a mini-hand pick and cultivator that won't break, you will like this product.

This thing is pretty serious. It's heavy, and feels like it can do real work (or damage).

This is much more of a hand tool than the typical heavy grubbing hoe/mattock that I'm used to, which makes it a lot more versatile for my needs. It's just the right size and weight, even in my relatively small hands, but don't assume it's dainty. It can really tear through some heavy red clay-soil (not hard-packed clay, but thick sticky dirt nonetheless). I've been planting a lot of bulbs lately, and this has become my go-to tool, taking the place of my trusty hand trowel or serrated heavy duty garden knife. You can swing it hard and still manage an accurate strike for precise cutting/turning of soil just where you need it, or you can swing wildly and disturb a lot of dirt pretty quickly. It's lightweight but very sturdy and well-balanced. I trust that it's going to prove to be a durable tool I can depend on for a while. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase.

The ergonomics of the tool - very light weight and spot on to use

Fantastic feel using this in red clay soil. It has good weight and length of handle combination that you will feel surprise how easily you adapt to using this tool. I've used it in heavy clay where the curved pointed head goes right in easily. Iced cleared weedy areas with the tiller end that easily helped raked out the weeds and with its sort of sharp end of this tiller end it helps to chop thru roots. Well not tree roots but weedy or bush types of roots. It is so easy to give it a light twirl and you are back and forth between the digger end and the three prong tiller end.I did not feel much if any vibration with the fiberglass handle when swing this tool in gardening. The head of this tool is very durable metal, it is not brittle. So for others that have mentioned broken the head I suspect they may of gotten an imitation. I've even seen a gray handle version of this tool that just didn't seem authentic as the head seemed to be cast metal.I found that you can choke up on the handle or have it swing from holding hit at its end for maximum penetration into the ground taking advantage of its weight to do most of the work so that you don't get tired out easily. I've used this in combination with my hori hori for more delicate digging out plants and transplanting while with this tool to do more extensive digging and clearing. I really like this tool.

HAPPY purchase. WISH I'd known about the Truper 20 years ago!!! Bought this to replace the 36-in. pick mattock I owned for 18 years, it's wood handle finally gave way, and tried without success replacing the handle. So the Truper arrived today and paid for itself in ONE experiment. My Mom wanted me to finish digging out the roots of Century plant thorny, poisonous Agaves in a raised bed. The TRUPER is a REAL TROOPER! It made short work of the deep, tough roots on these pesky plants! I love the variety of both tips-- both were helpful. The chiseled fork tines are helpful in digging out roots DEEP enough without chopping them off prematurely. Wow. The single chisel tip was useful for digging UNDER the plants, then using the HANDLE to pry them out. WOW. GREAT TOOL WISH I HAD ONE 20 years ago so I could be using it all along. It was MUCH more practical than my 36-inch pick mattock, because I wasn't having to swing it overhead!!! P.S. Great hand, wrist and arm workout!
