I read some reviews saying their scope was used before they opened it. They mentioned scuffs and scratches. I hoped I would not have the same problem. The product package was perfect and did not appear to be opened before. When I took the scope out of the package I could see scuffing on the body and near the cap rings. I was able to clean some of it off but not all. There was also a finger print on the inside of the cap when I flipped it open, I was wearing gloves. Because the package was not opened before?, I assume all these issues were from poor manufacturing quality control. Shame on Truglo for manufacturing in China...why not here??? The scope seems fine and rather than return it only to roll the dice again I will keep and test it out.

I was excited to receive my true glow 2.5 MOA scope today. I removed it from the packaging commonly found on items at Walmart's sporting good section. I liked The coating on the site. I opened the flip up spring loaded caps in the front one immediately came apart. The spring and the pin fell on the floor where our 8-week old kitten and I raced to see who could find it first. Fortunately I won. True Glo lost. I am returning this and I will never buy another true Glo item again. Sending people junk has real consequences. This could have been fatal to that kitten if it ingested that spring! I wish I could have at least tested the sight on my airgun I obviously ordered it for a reason, but I will not do business with a company that will put their name on such flimsy junk.

Nice sight picture, x2 magnification great for inside 100 yards. Still holding zero after about 250 rounds on a Ruger PC9. I’m happy with my purchase.

***Second update***3/23/2021 I contacted the company that now owns Truglo today about the compression pins and lens caps I mentioned in my last update. An hour after contacting them I was told they are shipping me a new set of lens caps free of charge. I'm changing my rating to 5 stars for such fast and excellent customer service. I can't promise this will happen for everyone I can only say how well I was treated. I do not have a ship date yet but, was told they would be shipped ASAP. You do not find customer service that good too often anymore. *** ***Update***3/15/2021. Keep an eye on the pins that hold the flip up lens caps. The start coming out with use. I contacted the seller and after all the work and ammo of zeroing the red dot their only suggestion was to file with Amazon for a refund. An authorized dealer should easily have access to lens caps. They are available on the Truglo website. Don't expect any support or help from the seller...*** This is a preliminary review. I received it quickly in packaging I wish Amazon had packed tighter. These do not need need to rattle around in the box in shipping.I mounted it onto my Smith&Wesson M&P15 Sport 2 on a 1 inch riser I already had on the rail. Including loctite mounting took all of 5 minutes. Bore sited it using an in chamber laser bore site at 50 yards. Today put 30 rounds through it. It took 5 to get it dead zero, the rest were testing to hold zero which so far it has.Lots of people saying this is a fake or knock off. It absolutely is not. Google the exact model number and you will find it on Truglo's website.50 yards was pretty simple for a 2x power Red Dot but, all my Red Dot Sight scopes are set up at 50 yards. You can still easily hit 100 yard targets if you understand shooting and scopes in general. The controls are different on some models. Some have the brightness on the top and others on the side. Both models were made by Truglo.Accuracy was excellent at a 50 yard zero. The talk about field of view is way over stated in most of these reviews as well. I could easily change from a 50 yard target to a 20 yard then 30 yards without issues. I can also see plenty around me. Red Dots are intended to use with both eyes open. I shoot almost everything with both open. If you've ever shot competitively this is something you learn very early on.It will not co-witness with a Sport 2 fixed front site and Magpul rear pop up. I didn't want it co-witnessed. If you do I would drop to a .083 or possibly a .50 inch riser.Only time will tell if it holds zero and I will follow up if it doesn't.As long as you know how to correctly mount it and more importantly how to bore site then zero it at the range you will like this Red dot. At a touch over $40.00 you would be hard pressed to beat it.As of today I would recommend this Red dot to those understanding the set up.

I'm in my 60's, my eyes just can no longer make iron sights work at anything other than quite short range. So for the last 4 years I have been steadily putting these Red Dot sights on various rifles, carbines, and yes even a pistol.I have 6 currently mounted, have yet to have a problem with one. I have replaced only 2 battery's, when I forgot to turn them off.The 2x optical zoom helps bring those farther targets up closer and easier to see.I happen to have a pair of identical single shot rifles in .44mag. I mounted one of these on one, the other got a 2-5 variable scope. The scope is bigger, and both turned in incredibly similar groups until we went past 75 yards.Only at 100 yards with the scope dialed up to 5x was it able to outshoot the Red Dot. Which really surprised me.The Red Dot was able to maintain about a 2" group at 100 yards, but the scope was able to shrink that a bit.But the Red Dot is quicker to get on target. It really is a great solution for older shooters. And I have been watching the price slowly drop. From near 70$ for my first to 43$ for my last pair. Yes I am buying them 2 at a time now so I have a spare on hand.I like the smaller dot size.A 5MOA dot is going to cover a 5" circle at 100 yards. So your shot could be anywhere in that 5" circle. Which is ok, but not really what I consider accurate.a 2.5 MOA dot is half that size, covers a 2.5" circle. Much better accuracy possible at longer ranges.

Slapped this "paintballer" red dot on a large caliber semi-automatic rifle and had a ball at the range. I've never been a big fan of optics of any kind (I always seem to break them). Iron sights have always done me right. But once I got used to the "two eyes open", method with this red dot I found I really could draw down on and hit a target and a hundred yards easily and quickly. I was tearing up my targets (clay pidgins on a sand bank) so fast and having so much fun doing it that a local range snob came over to check out my rig. He sniffed in disgust when he saw I was using a "paintballer" red dot, which made me laugh out loud and really made my day. Love this thing. It's accurate, holds zero, is a cheap way to enter the world of red dot shooting, and best of all if I bust it I can buy another one for next to nothing!
