I bought this helmet to replace an older worn out one. I also purchased it because it had new safety features. It fits perfectly and I can't wait to start using it. Troxel makes a great helmet.

I’m a lifelong horseback rider, but I’ve had a few too many head injuries. My neurologist told me one more consciousness loosing concussion might be my last. So I looked at the new technology in helmets & had to convince myself to pay more than $60 for a helmet. I am SUPER glad I did. I’ve been wearing equestrian helmets from Troxel for about 25 years. This is by far the most comfortable helmet I’ve ever worn, bar none. The cooling pad inside isn’t actually cool, but in the 90+ degree F temperatures, in full Sun with plenty of humidity, I was far more comfortable wearing this helmet than I’ve ever been. The shape of the helmet fit my head well also. The last Troxel helmets I had were slightly oddly shaped both for my head and my daughter’s…applying excess pressure to our foreheads. However, this one seemed to be shaped just right and with enough internal padding to be comfortable but not so much that it made it feel sloppy on my head. The chin strap is comfortable as well although a little extra padding wouldn’t be amiss. I also love this color pattern. I’m not much on pink, but purple and teal are my horse’s colors and this looks fabulous with our teal gear. Enjoy the collage of our day of Trail Obstacles.
