I've wanted one of these since I was a kid. It seemed so neat and sounded fun to play. Forty years later I caved and bought one for myself. This is HARD to master. I've practiced quite a bit and only after a few days did I finally get to play some remanence of a song. Ironically, my son picked it up and got it after about five minutes but took me a while. It's fun, unique, a laugh at a party and I could imagine, for someone just relaxing, it could be a neat way to waste away a little time.

I've been plucking away at this thing for an hour, watching demos on how to make it produce sound, and it is wholly silentwell, i take that back to a degree - it makes a low buzz in my jaw and skull, but it's completely inaudible to anyone else, and I can't change the tones at all.maybe it's a skill issue. but I've really made a good faith effort here, and I am just not getting ANY result. Two stars because the box it came in is super charming. I guess it'll look cute on the knick knack shelf or something.

Absolutely zero quality control in this product. Clearly, they aren’t tested before shipping. Right out of the package, this jaw harp has mechanical interfere, and won’t vibrate at all, just “clangs”. It also has sharp edges and the reed is welded at a wonky angle. Even after trying to pry it apart didn’t help. My wife bought it without reading the reviews. So read the reviews. They negative ones don’t lie. Nice paperweight though.

This is nothing but a cheap rip-off that utilises a popular cartoon character. It tells you to place the frame against the front of your teeth, DO NOT DO THAT!! I now have three cracked teeth from this thing. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!!!!!!! I looked up a review for this thing, and even the professionals did not recommend this piece of crap. Oh but it has a nice box though........as long as you're willing to lose teeth over it.

These are a great harp for a beginner. I actually bought a second one. My husband and I have a blast trying to play them. I will definitely upgrade when we gain somewhat of an ability to play! If you are looking for a high quality, you get what you pay for. This is for starters. It is big and difficult to keep from hitting your teeth. I would buy it again to gift.

This is a terrible Jews harp. I loved the price at first but I soon realized that it was a waste of money. I could not get any sound out of this harp. In fact, because i kept trying, it ended up making my lips bleed. It is uncomfortable to hold in your mouth and doesn't even make sound. I later bought a pavel potkin harp from Russia for about $20 and it was worth it. The sound is great and it's very comfortable.

Overall, it is a good product. The Jaws Harp is not the best, but I mean. It’s a great quality according to it’s price. Good product to gift others. If you just want to practice and make some easy fun noice. This is probably a good product to get.

I purchased one for myself and one as a Christmas gift for my 8y/o niece as something different and fun to learn about, but after trying this I would be embarrassed to get this for anyone, for any occasion. This does not work, it's poorly designed and doesn't make any type of sound as intended. Live and learn I guess, so I would definitely spend a little more for something that actually works as it should. I do not recommend.

Got the harp in. I'd say the box is rather cute and would make for good kitsch if you're into that. The jaw harp is well-constructed and solid. The problem with it is, mine isn't very loud but I think it's a defect in mine and not a trait of the product as a whole. It makes a bit of noise and I'm going to keep it since it's not loud and I can play it at my desk in the middle of the night if I damned well please, but figured it was worth mentioning to others if loudness is a concern. A $20 jaw harp would be a modest price so I'd check that range if you're serious about one.

Although marketed as a toy, the jaw harp is an ancient musical instrument that if played correctly can bring you much joy.The key here is 'played correctly', it is not a toy and while there are instructions on the back of the wrapping plastic, it is not intuitive and you will have to practice. Go to YouTube and look for Jew's Harp tutorials. You wouldn't buy a guitar and expect to play it like Joe Satriani right away so why would you expect this instrument to open its wonders on the first whack? As to the construction, it is as good as it can get from a company that makes toys, the only weak point is the connection of the tongue to the body of the harp, it is pressed in and in the future might get lose, but for a musical instrument under $10 I say go for it.

Takes a little getting used to but my 8 year old son loves it and picked it up really fast. Great starter harp we now have two but he still likes this one the most.
