Hard shells protect the knees, and don't stick to the floor like rubberized pads. There isn't a lot of padding, but at 42 I can still run, drop down to my knees, and slide across a concrete floor without any pain or fatigue. I do wish there was a version that dispensed with the velcro in favor of clips, but these are a good bargain compared to the 187s.

Was looking at other more expensive options, but settled on these pads and they turned out great! Exactly the kind of protection and fit i was hoping for. I choose to wear them over pajama pants over snow pants, but they are also comfortable on your skin and would also fit over snow pants if you want. Great product, would buy again

If I could give this 6 stars I would. I wear these with the wrist guards from the same company while I ride my e-skateboard. About a week ago my friend was riding the same e-skateboard without pads and ended up breaking his wrist in a minor crash. This morning, I ended up wiping out on it while at max speed, but the pads sacrificed themselves and tore themselves apart saving me. I’m a bit sore but absolutely had to leave a 5 star review.Pros:- comfortable- can wear over jeans (saved my pants)- easy to put on and take off- look greatCons:- could be a bit more sturdy, but better they break than me

Way less bulky than the combo packs they sell.Love that this wrap around your knee and you don’t have to step into a sleeve.Good protection. I do trail skating so I’m not jumping or anything extreme. I’m still practicing on skating backwards and stopping so I have fell with these and they protected my knees. Job well done

The pads seem strong, but it is just held by 2 straps, my kid tried it and he said they slip quite a bit so we got a different one that do the full wrap around the leg.

Pretty decent quality, can fit good on some people, but can be a bit hard for skinny people, it was a teeny bit loose for a 15 year old skinny kid.

The knee pads are comfortable and fit me quite well. As for durability, I have no idea as I have only had them for a couple of weeks but they seem well made.

As I wrote in other reviews about Triple 8 products I am a big fan of the quality and comfort of there skateboard protective gear .. These knee pads are pretty basic as far as quality/durability and will probably do the job if you crash a few times.. But for $19.00 what do you expect they're significantly less bulky than the KP 22 knee pads and far more comfortable. I would rather wear something less bulky with a little less protective qualities than not wear any protective padding at all, I know myself I wont wear pads if they are too cumbersome and bulky so if you're looking for a light to medium duty knee pad and your a smaller rider these should be your go to.. But if you're crashing on a consistent basis and are a heavier rider 150+lbs I would get the KP 22 knee pads!

I have started skating again with my wife and kids and being older than I was I don't like to hurt myself when I fall. I got these knee pads because I had a hard time finding ones that fit a grown up dude that is 6'2" and weighs 250lbs. These fit me well with out being to tight and stay in place while skating about. The main reason my legs are hard to fit for knee pads is because I am one of those active big guys that goes to the gym, runs and skis. I am not just fat. These are good and have protected me on falls. I would like more coverage but I am still pleased.

I like this style of knee guards, because I can't deal with the kind held on by an elastic tube you slip over your leg. These strap on, and I typically cross the strap behind the knee for a tight and comfortable fit. So far, these have been great -- comfy, sturdy, and great when I fall. Why 3 stars? Because one of the knee pads has an upside-down logo on the bottom strap, while the other has a right-side-up logo on the top strap, as pictured. Yes, I can tell the top of a knee pad from the bottom -- it's quite obvious. This was just a weird manufacturing defect.I am too old to care much which way my logos face, so I wear 'em anyway. But come on, Triple 8 folks. I hope your inattention to quality control doesn't affect the protection of your products.
