First of all, the brick is a fantastic device. However, the one I got worked for a week before it wouldn’t turn on. I plugged it in to charge with a usb-a to c charging brick when it got really hot to the touch and then wouldn’t turn back on. The only sign of life was the led turning on to indicate it was charging. The data on the sd card remained intact. The refund process with the seller was positive and the device is one of the best available in its form factor. I’ll definitely be ordering a new device.

This console is a phenomenal design, and feels very "premium." While the price point is not premium, even if it were this would still feel and play great. The metal backplate is, to some people, too warm, but I've never experienced that and I have several Trimui Brick units. The SOC is fast and excellent for playing games that do not require an analog joystick on PS1/SNES and below, but also N64, Dreamcast, and even some PSP titles.The feel in the hands is great, the name "brick" fits in all the positive ways. The RGB is a gimmick, and not necessary, but still manages to look cool even to someone (me) who finds most RGB tacky. As for the colorways, this red model looks amazing, and the purple unit is equally amazing. The black looks great but is "smudgy" and the white looks good, but would probably look better with white buttons instead of gray.The SOC is the same as the Trimui Smart Pro (aka TSP) and a few other standouts, and support for this console is growing. As I write this several other options are in progress and minUI already very developed. I'm using the stock experience with some extras from "Stockmix" added in. If you've ever used a TSP, you will find this easy to move to.The controls are very responsive with minimal travel, which may be. problem for some but I found to be highly usable. Precision games are easy to control, and my only minor gripe is they are softly clicky and may not be for use at bedtime if your partner needs an absence of noise. You can define the function buttons for various things, I have one set to change the D-Pad from digital to analog joystick mode (a bit klunky but it works for most games I tried), one set to turn off the LEDs for when I don't want the ominous red glow I have them set to, and the switch is set up to put the CPU in power mode. You can also adjust things like power saving, quiet or silent, and a few others as you prefer.The screen is arguably the best part. This is an amazing screen, though on the small side, and has vivid color and pixel density compared to other handheld consoles, especially in the small-pocket-size console-sphere. Even though the screen is small, I find myself playing a lot of bedtime Sudoku (classic PSP Mini) in the wide screen format because the screen is so good I don't see the boarders on top and bottom. You can stretch the image, if that's how you were raised, but I think polite society agrees that this is wrong (j/k).All in all, the combination of amazing screen, excellent controls, premium feel, and pocketable size make this an easy call to keep in a pocket or bag just in case. Gameplay emergencies can happen at any time -- it's best to be ready. Who knows, you might even keep one on the nightstand, I certainly do!

First, I want to say that the TrimUI Brick is an amazing retro gaming device. That said, the two I received from this seller both had to be returned because of serious manufacturing defects. The first device has a broken 3.5mm headphone jack and the second had a broken R1 shoulder button and a screen with excessive light bleed from all four corners. I assume this retailer must have received a bad batch from the original manufacturer. I'd look elsewhere for the Brick.

Only powered on a few times. Ceased working. Manufacturer's troubleshooting steps did not provide any resolution. Device was slated for return. Following other users' troubleshooting tips got it working again. Going to see if it stays working. 3 stars for now.

This WESICH Trimui Brick Retro Game Console is a good device for people who loves retro games. The device is portable, easy to to use and comes with lot of fun games. The screen is very clear , along with long battery life, makes game playing more enjoyable.Overall satisfied with the product, as everything is working perfect

* Elegant design: - Not very large device, portable and yet with a high resolution (1024x768) screen. When playing GB games it's mind blowing when compare the screen with some other devices I have. - Minimal number of buttons on the surface, D-Pad with A/B/X/Y/Select/Start are really enough for most of the classic games. - The plastic feels premium; some other devices I bought that feel like they are built with cheap plastic, this model the corner of buttons etc. feel very high quality. - Two buttons on the side to turn volume up and down: Some other devices I had use a wheel, which is not good as when holding the device it's very easy to accidentally touch and change volume. This device doesn't have this issue. * Flexible buttons - They put two "fn" buttons above A/B/X/Y that can be reconfigured to be select/start, or used as "fn" buttons to change behaviors of the device, like turning off LCD, change CPU clock, etc. - In particular, the device doesn't have an Joystick control but you can configure a "fn button" to switch the D-Pad between "D-Pad" and "Joystick" modes. - They have R1/R2/L1/L2, compactly packed so a bit hard to reach R2/L2, but R1/L1 are easy to press and since almost all old games don't use R2/L2, it's good. * Other highlights - Can emulate up to PSP games. - Have some homebrew "ported" games, some can REALLY surprise you. - Can be connected to PC to read/write content using USB-C, without a need of SD card reader. - Support netplay (didn't try).
