TRIM TAP LIGHT is a synthetic/vegetable/mineral oil blend possessing strong friction-reducing properties. Hard to find, but great stuff. I did a metric ton of research to try to find a single cutting/drilling/tapping/machining fluid that works well on a wide range of materials. I turned off of Tap Magic after discovering that it discolors copper and brass if you don't clean the parts right away after use. Trim Light doesn't contain sulphur and so doesn't discolor those metals. Still seems to work very well for steel, aluminum and copper on the lathe. People swear by WD40 for this, molyd for that, etc. but I don't want to go through having a dozen products. Trim Light seems to be a solid do-it-all high end product.

I bought this for tapping but then I ran out of cutting oil for my lathe and mill so I gave this a shot. Works great and has none of the odor I used to get with my regular cutting oil. Oh yeah, it works great as a tapping fluid too.
