The step by step instructions were clear, but make sure you look closely at the pictures to determine which way things face. I wish they would have had some closeups. The issue I had with assembly is the Allen wrench that is provided was worthless. By page 6 of the instructions, it had stripped itself and could no longer be of use. I have my own set of Allen wrenches and I had to pull them out to finish construction.

This is perfect for my home office use for the files I don't need to get in and out of all day everyday. We have a ton of put together furniture and this was more pieces and a two person job.

Make sure that you pay attention to where the lock is, when putting it together. Very sturdy and looks great.

I was doing fine until I got to the last drawer. It's not lined up so getting the bottom in there isn't working. Just save yourself some time and go to an actual furniture store. Super disappointed in this process. I have been working on this all morning and now I can't finish it. I will need to cut some of the bottom piece off to get it to fit.I did manage to push it in there... but once it was all put together, the drawers fought me getting in. So, buyer beware.

It is sturdy! The file cabinet drawer holds all my files and the shelves are perfect size for certain books. The only thing I felt was it wasn’t as tall as I thought it would be but it’s still a great addition for my office!

Please save your money and buy anything but this product. Honestly even though I spent nearly 200 dollars I will be throwing it out of my house by month end as soon as I find ANY replacement.It is BARELY a filing cabinet, you can not put tabbed files in the drawer or it will not close. Normal sized hanging folders also do not fit as they are constantly getting pushed off the railing because they are too tall. The 2 side rails and bottom piece are the only metal - which is not what the advertising lead me to believe.The black top coat is already chipping off in chunks and its been 3 days.The lock is pathetic.It was very difficult to put together, and wobbles constantly. And I enjoy putting Ikea furniture together.I tried working out a reasonable return with the seller but they would have me take the whole thing apart and pay for shipping back and it was "expected" to be in the same condition it was sent to me in. Which is impossible as it is already falling apart.

This was awful to put together. Not very sturdy and nothing sits exactly even. My one drawer is slightly shifted and the lock won’t go in due to the screw holes not being predrilled. It is a great concept and I like the look of what it should be. I am just dissapointed in how it the process was to put together and the end sturdiness.
