My review here is based on the application - it's not been long enough to see any roots yet. These are not that easy to attach to a branch or a limb, especially if you have to get on a ladder to do so (which I don't recommend). The plastic "balls" do not clamp or lock closed on their own; be prepared with some longer zip ties or wire to keep them closed and attached to the limb you are trying to propagate from. What I thought would be a 20 minute procedure turned into 2 hours time scrounging up string, wire, whatever I had on hand to complete the task to keep the now "wounded" limb from being exposed for too long. Time will tell if I have any success!

I am using these to attempt a cloning on several fruit trees, this process takes up to six months to complete so I will doing multiple tries on each tree with these growing pods. They are about a two-cup size so decently sizeable for growing moss or seed starter (I am trying both types for best results) They have a nice larger sized almost funnel style lip on the top side to keep your medium damp during the rooting process. The ball snaps together, not sure what clamp they are referring to in the description or instructions. It does have conveniently placed notches that accommodate rubber bands quite nicely. The instructions are nice and easy to follow and have illustrations, the price was great in my opinion, and I am excited to see how the process turns out.

I've used this method of propagation several times using a plastic bag as the container. It's not the time of year to propagate things, so I'm saving them till late winter (fig and elderberry) and spring. They are a nice size for a good root ball, the plastic is plenty sturdy, the snaps that hold the sides together work very well and seem like they will hold while doing their job. The boxes are clear on one side and black on the other, I guess so we can check on the progress of the root growth. I'm looking forward to actually trying these out!

I haven't yet started these on my citrus trees because it's late in the season, but they come in two sizes and are thick and durable, with grooves for wrapping tape or rubber bands around them to secure the two halves. The snaps are almost too tight. I had trouble separating two halves that I snapped together off the tree to test, and I anticipate that I will simply cut off the snap posts to separate this enclosure from the rooted branch in the future. I'm excited to try these out in the spring.
