Got a 33t pinion gear for my Bandit VXL and was going to use these spacers to do the install and take out the guess work. Well, turns out it doesn't fit the VXL. The screw slots are curved on the spacers, where the VXL has a straight slot, so it is indeed, not compatible. Otherwise, I will use these on another vehicle later if I decide to get another model. Just disappointed that the description was off.

I run two different tire diameters on my Rustler, so I was looking for a way to quickly change gearing without having to fiddle around with the mesh. This does the job --And saves from having to clamp down as hard on that bottom screw, protecting the transmission's plastic backing plate from possible deformation.Only downside I've found is with the provided gearing chart that tells you which adapter to use for each pinion/spur combination. This chart doesn't list all possible gearing combinations, though. Instead, it lists a handful of "recommended" combinations for each 2WD vehicle Traxxas makes. Nonetheless, I was able to get it to work for my particular application.

I was a little disappointed in this but they still work. I was hoping the instructions would have told you if you wanted to use a certain pinion gear (tooth count) to use a certain gear adapter. It only tells you about the OEM pinion or high speed gear that comes with a certain truck. I was still able to figure it out on my own and it worked for me, so I recommend it, but you have to do some experimenting with the different adapters to work for you.

So far so good. I have a Traxxas 2wd and the motor with pinion gear would not stay in place. So I watched a few videos and decided to give this Genuine Traxxas part a chance. It has solved the problem. I'm running a 16/90 gear ratio in position C. I'm just a couple of weekends a year RC warrior and not a RC know it all. It does what it is designed to do, and that's hold the motor in place with proper tension between the pinion & spur gear.You will have to adjust the pinion gear on the motor shaft so that it aligns with the spur gear. Easy fix if you can loosen the allen screw. I believe 1/16 allen wrench. Mine would not loosen/stripped so it's off alignment by 1/3rd. Still works but I'm sure I'll eventually strip one is the gears.
