I got this watch for use on hiking and backpacking trips, and it's well suited for those purposes. Its long battery life on the low GPS accuracy mode makes it much more usable than other options on longer backcountry trips. The big downside, and why I gave this 3 stars instead of 5 stars, is that just a few weeks after I purchased this watch, Suunto announced they were discontinuing support for Movescount and migrating customers over to the Suunto App which does not have support for all of the Traverse's advertised features.

It's a great dive computer. Real take aways before buying: complexity isn't very high but there is a learning curve, the app isn't great, and really for the cost there's probably more affordable models. Quality is a plus, not overly bulky for daily wear.

I like wearing a watch that gives me useful information. I travel for my work, with photography. It's handy when sunrise and sunset is on my wrist, this just makes life easier. The altimeter is fairly accurate so I can be reminded why I am short-winded. Still learning all the buttons, but it feels durable, something I appreciate. After years of being a fan of the X-lander, this is what I replaced it with and I'm happy.

The only disadvantage is a battery life. By default it's not enough to track one long whole day hike. There is the way to prolong it by making it less precise but you have to use your computer and it's not an easy to find option. For some incomprehensible reason, you can't change it on the watch itself.

I bought on november and the strap is already broken - battery is working well I just recharge every three days I guess - no real a smart watch if you compare with another one but at the end very disappointing with the strap quality

A lot of research went into my purchase of the Traverse. Altimeter, Barometer, Thermometer, Compass, sunrise, sunset, storm alarm, GPS, breadcrumb tracking. The watch by itself has great features but the App is what makes the watch even more valuable. The Movescount community allows its users to create "Apps" you can download to your watch for the type of activity you want to track. For example, Imperial Downhill Ski Tracker is an app you can download to your watch from the "Community" aforementioned. This is just one of the thousands of sports you can track on this watch. Once the acitivity is done recording on your watch you sinc it to the App and it shows you where you went topographically with many more features. The users manual is 100 pages and can only be downloaded online which I highly recommend you read through. If you want a watch that is more simple, this watch is not for anyone not willing to understand how this awesome watch works for outdoor enthusiasts.

I have been holding off on writing a review for this watch until I really got a feel for it. I have been wearing it for years. Its super tough. I play sports multiple times during the week and it has managed to withstand all I put it through. Cant say that about the apple watch or fit bit. It isn't touch screen and you cant talk on it but that was never something I was looking for anyways. GREAT BUY!!!!

I love the size and features of the watch. Reason I am not giving it a 5 star is because I couldn't get the watch to sync with my phone correctly. It linked up on Bluetooth and I was able to receive notifications and calls from my phone. However, for some reason the watch would sync and my time will jump 7 or 8 hours ahead suddenly. This happens 2 or 3 times a day. I've looked online (and instructions manual) to see if I did something wrong but couldn't find any fixes to it. I got to the point where I considered returning the watch but I believe the Sunnto Movescount App is at fault and not the watch so I kept it.

Accurate. Tough. Easy to use. LOoonnngggg battery life. Much longer than an Apple Watch. The GPS and map functions are solid. Light weight. Includes simple light function. I used this watch for a week in the outback of the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico - with zero issues. Highly recommended.
