The TP-Link 2.5GB PCIe Network Card (TX201) has been working flawlessly so far. Easy installation, good build quality, and no issues with connectivity or speed. It delivers the full 2.5Gbps as expected, making a noticeable difference in my network performance. It’s also great that it supports Windows and Linux without any hassle. Overall, a great quality adapter at a reasonable price—highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their network speed!

I have Xfinity 1200 Mbps package with the worst Upload speed. I highly doubt fiber will ever be installed where I live. You get what you get living in an unincorporated area of a city (mostly rural).I bought this to replace 1 GB ethernet card I have. Installation was quick and easy. Once I downloaded the new drivers from TP-Link and the restart, my speed improved. I couldn't be happier.Having had AT&T Quantum/Gigabit Fiber, I miss having the symmetrical Download/Upload speeds. Being able to reach over 1000 Mbps download does help.

Works great. Was having internet problems for 4 years until I decided to try this and it instantly doubled my internet speed. Guess my onboard one was bad. Was small and fits easily into the PCI slot. I downloaded the latest driver online.

This was easy to install and solve my issue from a failed card I had in my computer. Very happy with the performance.

Works fantastic! Plugged it into my PC, screwed it in, plugged in a Cat-6 cable into my router and the card, and got my expected internet speed without any adjustments. Great product.

This card is made very well and the backplane bracket is very well finished. The card itself has worked flawlessly and is fast.Highly recommended.

Installed it on my Windows 11 PC, very easy. When I plugged in my ethernet cable, still only 980Mbps with an internet speed test. Hmmm, I have Bell Fibre with a H-4000 router, 1.5Gbps service and CAT 6 cable but no prize. According to the TP-Link support site, the 2.5Gbps light should be flashing but it wasn't. Long story short, was not plugged into the 10Gbps jack (The silvery one, not yellow) on the router. That was the trick. Download speed test was 1.6Gbps, yay! Works like a champ now. Highly recommend and way cheaper than getting a new motherboard, aka newer PC.

Great network adapter. It was easy to install and works perfectly. The downside is that it comes with a mini CD to install the driver and if you don't own a disc player anymore in your 2024 computer, you have to go to their website to download the driver. The problem is that their website is not ergonomic and it's not easy to find how to download it... (loosing a star for it)I do have a concern on the overheating of the composant as there is no way to vent it properly

I had gotten this for my old computer when I upgraded to 1.2+gbps internet because I was limited to 900mb because it was just 1gbps port. Then when I was upgrading to my new computer I threw this in at the end in my new motherboard even though it came with 2.5gbps Ethernet onboard I figured it wouldn’t hurt just in case something became annoying. The Ethernet port on my new motherboard did not work on an existing install or a fresh install of windows while this expansion worked right out of the box and allowed me to update and install all the drivers I needed in a very timely manner. I love how reliable this device is and it was cheap, it’s so small and low powered you can pop it right into a prebuilt if you didn’t build your own pc.

Plug and play operation with TrueNAS scale. In this case, I am using an old Dell Precision 3620 tower that I picked up for cheap. I powered off the machine, inserted the card, connected my CAT6 cable, and powered on the PC. After a couple minutes, the server was back online! No driver installation or fiddling required.NOTE: Keep in mind that the local IP of your TrueNAS server will change since DHCP will see this card as a "new" device. Just set a static IP and disable the old ethernet interface in the TrueNAS Network panel and you're good to go! I get 280 MB/s transfer speeds over my home network until my RAM fills up (ZFS cache) at which point it drops down to whatever the disk transfer rate is (in my case ~100 MB/s). Time to buy more ram :)

I’m a tech, I beta test tech for various companies. So it’s natural for me to test each piece of tech I acquire. I have a custom built pc with the intel 13900, a 4090 gpu connected using 1gig up and down internet speeds. I started having throttling occur on upload, limiting me to 100meg upload speed. So I started troubleshooting, after a week of testing I decided the weakest link was the built in Ethernet adapter, others reported similar issues with my particular motherboard. So I ordered this unit, I’m always an overkill kind of guy with tech, so getting a 2.5g unit seemed appropriate. The unit arrived quickly, and was simple to install. It worked out of the box but of course I went to their website and upgraded drivers. First series of tests show my ping had been cut more than in half from 20 to 8. The speeds were faster slightly than before although a gig is a gig is a gig. That said, I soon encountered the exact same issue of throttled upload. I found it interesting that it seemed to throttle to 100megs give or take a few. At this time I recognized the issue was either my cable, modem or the actual line to my home. I replaced my Ethernet cord with a new one, and since fiber optic doesn’t usually degrade, it’s unlikely a line issue altho it could be a node issue down the line. Armed with the knowledge I had, I reached out and it was discovered my modem was failing. So even tho this unit didn’t specifically solve my issues, it did allow me to find the cause, and since it is a better ping, that to me is worth the cost of this card. Plus it gives me a backup connection if needed. I will be keeping this card and I will update once I get my new modem, and witness the difference real time. Should I encounter issues going forward I will also update this review.Ultimately I like this adapter, it’s super simple to install and use and it did improve my connection ping and speeds. If I ever use it to transfer data locally I will also post an updated review on that.
