It looks like this item is no longer available so this review may be moot, but this is a good budget preamp in a compact form factor. Very useful for most average listeners needs. It’s not an audiophile piece of equipment l, but it does what it needs to quite well and it looks nice and doesn’t take up hardly any space. If those are the boxes you want to tick, pick one up if it becomes available again.

I can now connect my record player to basically every sound system that I have. You can even connect this to a bluetooth transmitter. That is how I can play records and hear them on my outdoor speakers in my backyard. Any piece of audio equipment that has rca or auxiliary input can be connected to this. This works great, and it's so nice to revisit the albums from my childhood. It's nice and clear, and let's the natural sound of the album shine. It's got a great solid build quality and should last for many years. It's very simple to use. Plug your record player to the input and plug whatever you want as an amplifier to the output. A good value for what you get.

This preamp is perfect for running straight to speakers from your turntable. A great way to set up your audio and listen to vinyl immediately..

This little preamp does the job well. It’s surprisingly quiet and sounds good. I do find the location of the grounding screw to be a bit odd, though: Up high, flanked by the RCA jacks and just above the DC jack, it accepted my turntable’s spade lug only one way – sticking straight up (see photo). Maybe the average grounding lead is more streamlined than mine, but this made for a weird-looking installation. I’d have to go with a wire alone or perhaps a smaller lug to attach it out of sight.

Some ten years ago, I donated my old Fisher Studio Standard stereo system components, except for the turntable. This was because I had recently acquired a Sony surround sound system, which did not have a turntable. It turns out that it did not include a phono preamplifier either. So, the turntable has been unused and gathering dust. When I saw this preamp offered on Amazon, I thought maybe it was time to resurrect the turntable. It was in fine working condition when I shelved it all those years ago, but not now. In addition to all the dust, I found that the tonearm lifter no longer works. And in cleaning away the dust, I also messed up the tonearm balance and anti-skating adjustment. Thankfully, the stylus and cartridge were OK, so it was time to connect the preamp between the turntable and the Sony sound system.I had to find and connect another power strip to plug in the preamp as there were no more empty sockets in the two already in place behind the TV. I also commandeered a small table to place in front of the TV upon which to temporarily place the turntable since there is no suitable location in the existing stand. I couldn't immediately figure out how to get it to play through the speakers, so I opted to plug in an old pair of headphones to the jack on the preamp. Finally, I heard it -- "Love is a Rose" sung by Linda Ronstadt -- wonderful! Along with all the clicks and pops of an almost antique stylus riding on the surface of an even older vinyl LP. Not too bad, but there was also distinctly less bass than I remembered. After going through nearly all the sound system menus displayed on the TV screen, I found the one that simply connects the right and left audio jacks to play through the amplifier and speakers -- the "missing" bass came through loud and clear. Next I spent about ten minutes locating my Toto IV album. Their recording of "Africa" was the first song I played on that same turntable when I first set up the Fisher system. It was so great to hear those opening drums and keyboards again. Then came the horrible screech as the lifter tried and failed to lift near the end of the song! You probably noticed that I have barely mentioned the actual preamp. It works as expected and will likely give you much less trouble than everything else involved when using a turntable!

I've had very nice surround sound systems, good soundbars, and good standalone BT speakers in the past, but I'm newer to the whole "dedicated but small footprint setup" for playing BT and vinyl. I'm starting lower-priced to see if I'm interested in it all. That said, I wanted a decent but low-priced preamp to pair with an amp to improve the sound from a turntable and bookshelf speakers we got recently. This little phono preamp checks all those boxes. It's small, nice-looking, and very affordable at $39.99 (at the time of writing). When I got this through Vine, there weren't any reviews for this specific NEOHIPO product, but I found some reviews for other NEOHIPO stereo equipment, including some very honest videos outside of Amazon, and most were very positive. That gave me confidence.NEOHIPO sells a few other specific products that look similar or nearly identical to this one (like their BP10, which is specifically for Bluetooth transmission/amplification to speakers). It's important to note that this is a pre-amp, so it's made to go between your turntable and your active/powered speakers or your turntable and a setup that has a dedicated amp and passive speakers. This is a good little phono preamp to consider.
