How water leak sensors work

Have not had this long enough to know how long the batteries will last, but like the sensor. Nice that it will detect moisture on the bottom or dripping onto the top. Alarm is plenty loud.

Bought these to put under our dishwasher. There’s not much height to work with so the low profile of these was perfect.I tested them before installing and they detected the smallest trace of water from underneath and on top. Don’t forget to remove the tab from the battery compartment. Loudness of the alarm is sufficient to hear it installed under the dishwasher.

I purchased enough of these alarms to place under each sink in my home, and near the hot water heater. The alarms alerted me twice to leaks: one at the water heater drain valve, and one under the kitchen sink. I did the repairs myself and saved hundreds of dollars. The alarm is much cheaper than a plumber.

We have a couple sinks that leak and are inside wooden cabinets. When they leak, it puddles on the wood floor and stains/warps/mildews them. We've replaced the gaskets, but they still leak from time-to-time, so we purchased these alarms and put them beneath the faucets in the cabinet. They are easy to use, work great, with just a small amount of water, the alarms sound off very loudly.We also have an RV that has a grey water tank. The tank's test levels don't work correctly, so we've had the grey water come up through our shower drain. This creates a nasty mess, so the remedy is using one of these alarms in the shower by the drain. Works great!Using these alarms wherever you may have a leak to cause water damage is an easy answer to give you peace of mind! I highly recommend them!

Bought solely because they were unde inr 100db volume.However these aren't going to notify you of any small leaks because the sensors are well away from the ground, they're only going to notify you when there's a significant leak.The sensors are small, raised and pretty far apart.I believe the product would work better if it allowed the sensors to contact the surface it is sitting on.

The alarm sound was not consistent across all 5 that came in my order. I took one apart that was lower in amplitude and it appeared to be caused by how the small metal disk, that is basically the speaker, is glued into the housing. It was much louder once disk was firmly against the plastic housing and dried. All were very sensitive to moisture and eventually worked well. I didn't try using customer service but there appeared to be good contact info listed.
