Our tortoise is about the size of my hand, so not very big, and the harness is too small for her. We can get it around her front, but it's about an inch too short to get it connected around her backside. The material is soft and a type of buckle would probably be easier to get it on. The leash is very lightweight and the chain is thin, I'd call it dainty. The harness has a tortoise cut out, which is cute. So other than it being too small it is a nice leash and harness, we don't really need the leash, just the harness, so we'll probably just cut the leash up to make it bigger.

My children have two Russian tortoises and this leash and harness combo is a fun way for them to interact with their pets! It’s more of a novelty than necessary, but it does help to keep track of where they are walking in the house. The harness is easily adjustable to different sized torts and is simple to put on and use. The dark color stands out in a good contrast against their tan shells. The handle end of the leash has a finger loop and the leash has a clip to attach to the harness. The tortoises seem to enjoy it and don’t try and bite the chain or the PU leather. The only thing that might be a problem is the chain. If I find that this rubs our pets shells too much I will remove it. This is easily done with the split rings that attach the pieces together. Overall a nice product for tortoise care and play!

This was for my red-earred slider turtle and intended to use with a mini skateboard to strap it's body onto the board.Pro's: Love the yellow color and design combination of a metal chain with the soft fabric leash. The leash is a good length. The strap is adjustableCon's: The adjustable strap, which is secured on in a criss-cross fashion, is difficult to work with. This is because the adjustable part is only at one place, so both sides of the strap are adjusted simultaneously as opposed to 2 separate straps which can be adjusted individually. It was hard fumbling with the strap and handling a squirmy turtle at the same time. I wish there was instructions as I still don't know how to properly get the strap to securely stay on. It falls off once the the turtle starts moving around, but I don't know if I just put in on incorrectly or if it's a poor design.

Easy to put on my tortoise and works great. Durable and holds him securely.

This is a cute idea and I really wanted it to work. Turtles have a tendency to wander around and blend in with the environment, no surprise there, so I thought the bright pink color and tether was worth a try.Trying to get this on my turtle was like putting pajamas on an overtired squirmy toddler. I could not get it to fit right. She kept kicking it off with her back feet or getting her nails caught. After a half-hour of trying I just gave up. If I am successful next time I will update this review.I have a western painted semi-aquatic turtle, with the popular red-eared slider being a close cousin. The listing does say tortoise, but also turtle and bearded dragon. The physiology of a [semi-]aquatic turtle and land tortoise are similar but different enough to be significant in this case. This harness might work better for a land tortoise, but someone else can leave that review.
