  • Make Tortillas From Scratch - Use this thin, easy-to-remove plastic liner to ensure your masa won’t stick to your tortilla press’s surface.
  • While designed to fit Masienda’s Doña Rosa Tortilla Press, these liners can be trimmed to fit any press, including Victoria presses and wooden, steel, or cast iron presses of any size or shape.
  • Use and Reuse - It is recommended to wipe down liners after every use and, once dry, tuck them inside your tortilla press for next time. While they are meant to be used and reused multiple times, liners are disposable should they become damaged or dirty.

Product Description

Masienda Tortilla Press Liners

The Secret to a Perfect Tortilla

The tortilla liner is much more than an incidental detail — it’s a fundamental piece of the tortilla-making process that ensures your masa won’t stick to the press’s surface and that tortillas transfer seamlessly from press to hand to pan. Masienda's custom liners are printed with a tortilla ruler (in FDA-approved food-safe ink) and are meant to be used and reused to your heart’s content.

Masienda Heirloom White Corn Masa Harina

Fresh Tortillas in Minutes

  1. Mix 1 cup Masienda Heirloom Corn Masa Harina with 1 cup warm water. (Add a pinch of salt if you desire.) Add more masa if it’s too wet, more water if it's too dry.
  2. Knead until your masa is smooth (3-5 minutes). Optional: Let your masa rest (covered) for 10-20 minutes.
  3. Roll your masa into balls about the size of golf balls. Flatten a dough ball using a tortilla press lined with plastic.
  4. Remove from liner and place on a hot (400-500°F) non-stick surface. Cook for 20-30 seconds on each side, flipping three times. Remove and keep warm in a kitchen towel or tortilla warmer. Provecho!

I tried parchment paper and zip lock bag method, but I had problems getting the masa to release. These liners release the masa perfectly.

This is such a simple product. But it looks great and works well. The pack comes with five liners. But a single liner has lasted me through half a dozen or more uses so far with no signs of wear.I'm using the press liner with the Masienda press. It will generally stay in place, but if the top half slips, a drop of water on the back will keep it from moving. After use I brush the liner off with my hand and leave it in the press for next time. Easy as it gets.A Ziploc bag works fine too. But these are a little easier to cut and work with. For the price, why not give it a shot?

I make tortillas everyday and was using parchment paper before I gave these a try and they are far superior. They are very sturdy and will last for weeks of daily use if you wipe them down when you are finished. They also don't draw moisture out of the tortilla like parchment paper does.

And I regret that decision. You can make this at home with any plastic wrap that you press and stick. If you don't gave that plastic wrap, you will do just fine with a plastic storage bag. Other than the lines, these sheets do not improve over any other product except parchment paper.I gave it three stars because it does work. I will never buy it again.

I won’t need tortilla press liners for years with 5 of these, haha! They’re very durable! I used one for almost an entire year. I only bought more because there were holes in mine. This particular brand is great!

For me, there were a waste of money because they were too thin to get the tortilla off once I had pressed it. They are only the thickness of a plastic grocery bag, or maybe even thinner. I ended up using a gallon-sized zip-loc bag that I clean and re-use, which works much better.
