I got this LED Strobe Light for work, as I sometimes have to escort as a following vehicles. But it also helped me the other day. I just happened to get a flat tire in the middle of the night on the freeway going home. By using this light, other vehicles noticed me from a distance and moved over. The strobing light allowing me to be noticed as I changed the flat.I would highly recommend keep one in your car for emergencies.

I use my pickup truck to plow the snow in our neighborhood. A white truck isn't the most visible thing in the snow so I picked up this light. It's pretty straight forward;Put the light up on the roof of your vehicle, plug the long cord into your lighter socket. The plug has two, easy to use, rocker switches. The first power the unit up and the second switch changes patterns each time you press it. It remembers the patter you last used, so you don't have to keep setting it unless you want to.I like the fact that I can have it rotate alternating white and amber lights. The rotating light patterns seem to get people's attention better than the simple blinking lights. The other key thing is that these are BRIGHT, so you really are seen.I recommend this product.Word of advice: Make sure that the vehicle you want to use it on has a metal roof that will hold a magnet. Some newer vehicles (like my Expedition) have aluminum roofs which are not magnetic compatible. If yours is not compatible, you'll have to mount a piece of steel on your roof rack or roof for the light to adhere to.

Revised: on the very first use on a vehicle, pulling the light off caused the magnet to completely separate from the light. Evidently there is no glue or solid retaining material between the magnet and the light... just a sticker holds the magnet in. Now I have a sticker and a magnet attached to the roof of the vehicle and a light that has no way to stay attached to the roof. Dropping a star from the rating. This is a light duty strobe/beacon light. It has a fairly bright amber and white light which is amplified (or bounced if you prefer) by the reflector inside. It has a few flash patterns so you can find something that works for your purposes. The strobe is also fairly lightweight, so it isn't a pain to put on and take off the top of a vehicle.Another letdown I found were the magnets: they aren't very strong. Compared to several other strobes I've tested this one has lower adhesion to the roof. I'm not sure I would be comfortable driving with it on the roof at highway speeds. A pull test on the cable while on the roof did move the light around without much effort.

This is the second one like this that I've tried and they seem to both have the same issue. The LEDs are on the bottom and a reflector is supposed to direct the lights out horizontally . . . but they don't. It's like no engineering went into the reflector. Parked inside with the ceiling about 4 feet above the light itcasts a circle about 10'-12' in diameter and about 4' wide. That's a significant about of light wasted.Out in the daylight it's barely noticable. At night it's ok.

I have a similar item like this that puts out a good amount of light that will be used in emergencies to make sure that if I'm broken down on the side of road I will be visible from a long distance. This light is similar but the biggest downside for me which caused me to dock a star is that there really isn't any protection between the magnet and the surface where it will be going which is likely your car. I think it will scratch the surface to be honest. I'm going to find a piece of rubber that's not too thick and then glue it in place. It will give enough hold with a strong magnet but won't damage my car finish. Other than that it's a quality light.
