I purchased the wood one and it was easy enough to assemble. Just be careful to put the screws in properly. One of the pieces was broken, but it appears I was able to nail it back together. If you are going to keep it outside, you will have to weather proof. It does not seem to be to sturdy

Directions provided were NOT helpful. We had to pull up the picture from Amazon to make heads or tails out of them. The wood is really cheap. Used a hand screw driver and it still split in several places. Thankfully we were able to glue it. Also, the ends did not always line up - while perfection is not expected, it should be at least flush when put together. Some of the ends were about 1/8 to 1/4 inch off. While it seems sturdy, it may not last more than a couple of seasons (due to the cheap wood). The bench is on a covered porch, however we are not overly optimistic. To help preserve it further, used polyurethane on it. The wood was very "thirsty" for the product. It was not returned as we are stubborn and once we got it figured out and together, we were not taking it apart. On a positive note is really pretty. Especially after the polyurethane.

My wife really likes this potting bench. She does a lot of gardening, and this is perfect for all the smaller gardening projects she does involving plants in pots on our porch. This is very solid and well made. It should last a long time. You will have to assemble the entire unit. Fortunately, all pieces are clearly labeled with stickers which makes this a lot easier. The instructions were just pictures which worked fairly well but could have been clearer in certain areas. I was concerned with the lack of pilot holes in the receiving legs when screwing in certain cross members. This made me wonder if I was lining them up correctly. I did have to unscrew and re-screw one piece of the draw because of this. The other issue is that one of the hooks was broken off the mount that gets screwed into the side. Not a big deal, but slightly annoying.Overall, the solid nature of this potting bench is the best part of this bench. It feels well-made yet it is not too heavy.

If you feel like you've read this review before it's because we bought two benchs from two different sellers. We gave both benches 5 points for the price and for meeting our needs. Even though this bench developed a crack in the bench top, I still feel like the wood on this bench is harder and feels sturdier. A little wood puddy should fix it up.My husband put the benches together and didn't complain too much. The drawer fit better on this bench and slides well. After giving the bench a quick sand and a couple coats of clear coat, we think it looks pretty good. Both benches are going to live in our little greenhouse (also bought on Amazon), so it won't be subject to the PNW rain and snow. The little top shelf on both benchs are too narrow. I was hoping to put 4" pots on it, but the saucers won't fit. Altogether, I was suprised how much we were able to get on the bench top and lower shelf. I can't imagine keeping it outside in the elements, but I believe that it will hold up fine for our greenhouse needs. We paid more for this bench, despite the crack in the top, this was the better bench. Purchased February 2023

I’ll start by saying I really like this bench and once it’s put together it looks really nice, just as pictured. It’s what you would expect for the price, however. It’s definitely a 2 person job to build, and there were no pre-drilled holes so it was somewhat a guessing game of making sure the pieces lined up correctly. We used a drill and it wasn’t too bad aside from the wood splitting in some spots. Otherwise, the directions were very easy to follow and took about 1 hour start to finish. It definitely made from very cheap wood but feels pretty sturdy once together and has a good amount of space. For the price, I am happy with the purchase and would probably recommend.

Did not really expect great quality based on prior customer reviews but was disappointed with major wood damage right on the counter top that is in plain view. Decided to try to fix instead of returning the whole package as no doubt another unit would likely be damaged too. Also this unit is NOT made to keep outdoors unless it is well covered. Cheap wood cannot take the weather in my opinion. Overall disappointing but got what we expected. Btw do yourself a favour and have two people help to assemble AND have a cordless power screwdriver to make the job easier. The instructions were OK but NO narrative at all. Pay attention to the exact details you see in the illustrations.

For years I've gotten down on the ground to do my potting. I've wanted to build my own bench but finally broke down and looked into pre-made ones. This one seemed to fit the bill; reasonable price, good size. I can attest to the fact that it's very easy to assemble. And very light. I did caulk the seams on the inside of the work area, then polyurethaned the whole bench with two coats. It's been out in the sun and rain for a month and still looks great. It's sturdy enough for the potting I do and soooo convenient! My back and knees no longer wince at the thought of potting plants! I only gave it 3 stars for the weatherproofing because I don't know how it would have held up without me treating it. It may have done better, but I won't know. All in all, I'm really glad I purchased this one. It's made gardening that much more enjoyable.

A really great buy for the price! I was excited to see actual ceder wood (and it smelled fantastic). The instructions weren't Ikea level idiot proof, but my fiance and I still built it in about an hour with only a few minor mistakes (which were our own fault, to be honest). You should be able to build it with only a minimal amount of carpentry knowledge. We only needed 2 Phillips head screwdrivers and a soft rubber mallet.I would feel more comfortable protecting this with a stain and seal for a prolonged life outside but it's sturdy and fulfills all of my needs! Watering on the 3rd floor is frustrating and I really appreciate the addition of the watering tub for easy fertilizing.I would definitely buy this again and have already recommended this to my co-workers and friends.
