Installed the unit in my wifes 2000 mustang , the top went right up. Heard a lot of gurgling which I thought was just some air bleeding out. Went to put the top down and it would only go part way. Then the pump started leaking ATF all over the place. The leak was from between the reservoir and pump itself.I re-installed the original pump , filled it with fluid and it works beautiful. I figured the pump was tired from 22 years of service and it only needed some fluid. Lesson learned there. Hope this helps someone else out there.I sent it back for refund , have not heard anything yet... And do not know how to track since amazon created the label ??

I purchased it in October but held on to it until I could get a new top and then install everything at the same time. The company put on the new top and put in the new motor and the motor was defective! Couldn't retune because it was past 90 days, but why would they sell a motor they called new that was shot!

I ordered what was to be a perfect replacement motor from CJ Pony parts. This is the same manufacturer (ACP) as the one being sold here. I installed the first one, filled the reservoir and began the bleed task. On second cycle the pump poured fluid out of the joint in the middle of the motor. Not the fittings not the fill point, the motor failed in the middle. What a mess I had. Okay so did I over service it? Thinking this I ordered a second one and took it to Ford for a professional install. They had the exact same failure! This part is worthless. ACP needs to reengineer this one but get it off the market in the mean time.

I thought I needed a new motor for my 03 GT since my original was getting loud and the top was slow to go up. Installed this motor, put fluid in, and it would put the top up but not down. Defeated, and ready to send this unit back, I reinstalled the 18 year old motor and put fluid in it, and bled the system. The original worked better than ever, was quieter than it ever had been, and put the top up and down with ease. Basically, I just needed fluid and not a motor, but in a side by side performance test between an 18 year old motor and this brand new model, this one did not stack up at all and will be going back.

DOA piece of junk. I purchased the ACP convertible top pump motor for my wife’s Mustang GT convertible. After a 2-hour painstaking installation process, when I attempted to raise the top for the first time I discovered the ACP pump motor was DOA. It is a paper weight. Returned for a refund and bought a Ford OEM part.
