Exactly what we needed. Mid weight, water repellent,(NOT waterproof),decent mid-range quality overall. I wouldn't buy these for skiing/snowboarding/tubing, etc. They are NOT waterproof snow pants. They do not fit over regular pants, but they do fit comfortablely over leggings, and are even cute & comfy enough to wear without a base layer. My 10yo loves them

I purchase these kind of last minute for a snowstorm in Texas, but I’m extremely happy with them. My kids are both in mediums and 50 pounds. They’re comfortable flexible you can wear them over your jeans for extra warmth and their waterproof.

These pants, overall, were exactly what we were looking for. A warm, waterproof pant that would not be too bulky for school, but still keep him protected during recess. However, the waist on these is so tiny it almost seems like a manufacturing error–too small for the leg size. This is coming from someone whose kid is a string bean and we can almost never find pants that fit his waist yet are still long enough for his legs. These pants had the opposite problem. The legs were the right length, and even roomy, while the waist seemed two sizes too small. Return was no problem... though we were disappointed that we had to.

Likes: it’s really comfortable, keeps your legs warm, is waterproof and was perfect for the kids to ice skating. It looks nice.It was the perfect size for my kids, but they are Asian, so it might runs small in other 8yo kids.

These snow pants are fantastic! Great vibrant colors. Well made and roomy enough to slip on and off for snow breaks. The material is just like the expensive ski pants for adults that repels water..Not the polyester shell that gets wet. I am so glad I ordered these!

I'll start by saying that I came here a year later to order the next size up for my son who outgrew them.So obviously we find them useful and worth buying again, and found them functional for school in SE Michigan where they have 1 (sometimes 2) 20-minute recesses, and a short time playing in the snow or cold on the way to the car after school. However they will get SOAKED all the way through to pants under them after even a short time ROLLING and LAYING or sitting on knees in the snow, and also within a short time in slushy conditions.Son reported that he still felt "warm enough" even when they are wet, but again, for a short time.If your kid doesn't roll around or sit in snow for a while, and plays upright most of the time LOL, they are nice light-weight warm pants to put over other clothes for short recess time, walks and hikes, or casual "hanging out" in cold, snowy weather. Good for ice skating and maybe even skiing once they are past the constant falling stage. They're quicker to put on than the bib/overall snowpants, and take up less space in a locker/classroom/backpack, and dry quickly when needed. The simple elastic waistband on these is great for younger and impatient kids.So there are pros for many uses, just don't expect absolute waterproofing. (Which I've also found to be true with nearly every single other similar pant sold on Amazon - we've been through many over the years.) So I'd recommend going by fit/design/cut/color when comparing any of them in this price range.

My daughter is a small 7.5 year old, and going by the measurements provided above, I hesitantly ordered the 4/5 and they fit perfectly! These are only for children who run on the slim side, for sure. It's a tight elastic waistband without a way to adjust it. My daughter has been wearing these XC skiing with thermal long underwear and they have been the perfect weight for that. I wouldn't send her snowboarding in them, however, where she's not constantly in motion - I think she'd get chilly without a lot of layers underneath. She finds them comfortable and loves the vivid pink color. We can find her easily in them in a crowd!

I bought these for a ski trip for my 9 year old son and they were fantastic! They look great and they were comfortable and warm enough for a day on the slopes and in the snow. They did not slip down or did I find any cold or wetness leaking through. I put on a pair of men’s liners underneath (Old Navy) for extra warmth and comfort, with these pants as the outermost layer. My son spent the day skiing, and falling into the snow numerous times, and was warm and comfortable the entire day. He is a big fan of elastic waist type track pants and so these were perfect for him! For size reference, he is a tall 9 year old (4’11” 105#) and the 2XL was perfect! I think they say the 2XL is for 14-16 years, so be aware when ordering to size up. He wears a boys XL in elastic waist track pants (Childrens Place, Gap, Old Navy) so I went up a few sizes based on other reviews. I already bought him a pair in the 3XL for next winter and I’m considering buying myself a pair as well.
