  • MATERIALS: The taps are made from M35 material and surface is coated with DLC for high hardness and rust resistance.
  • Designed: Spiral flutes is conducive to remove crumbs, not easily broken tap.
  • APPLICABLE: Suitable for processing blind holes and sticky materials. For drilling and tapping aluminum, die steel, stainless steel, bronze, hard plastics. Recommended feed rate: general steel: 6-15m/min; harder steel: 5-10m/min; stainless steel: 2-7m/min; cast iron: 8-10m/min. The torque caused by too fast feed speed is too large, which can easily cause the tap to break.
  • Use: On drilling machines, tapping machines, CNC and milling machines. Use with tapping oil to get higher quality threads and more durable taps. Machine taps are suggested to be used with tap collets with overload protection.
  • Tips: Taps are prone to chipping or breaking due to speed overload or non-vertical tapping. Use the correct tapping tools, such as tapping wrench, tapping machine. Micro taps are mainly used in clocks and watches, as well as for making holes in wood and soft metals with lower hardness.

I looked at these but have not used them all yet. I did get to use the 8mm today on a chunk of old cast iron to make a new part for my lathe. I've used different types of taps over the years.Out of that experience I found I prefer machine taps like these for hand tapping applications compared to the normal straight flute ones. They cut far easier so put less stress on the tap and the part and produce a great finish too.The key thing is to go into the hole exactly as it was drilled. Any angle change results in excess stress which typically results in a broken tap.Having said that, I broke my own rules and just eyeballed the angle. I tapped about 3/4" so certainly enough to put more stress on the tap due to slight misalignment. The tap handled it like a dream. It cut smoothly, easily and had no problem removing the chips.Looking at the tap afterwards and it showed no signs of wear. The tap I used worked about the same as my name brand one. I have no idea how long they will last but it looks good so far.

Bought these while they were on sale, wish I could have bought more at the sales price.

The accuracy of these is so bad, my M4 result would not even allow a bolt to start in the resulting hole. I am a retired machinist, so I do know a thing or two. A long trip to a good hardware store solved my problem by using taps that are correctly manufactured to spec.

Got these to try instead of the old tap and die set and I love em. Just as durable and well made as my much more expensive set. These function just as well but skips a step or two in the process. So good deal for the money and works well too.

These taps are sharp and cut threads well. The spiral aspect helps a lot when cutting threads or even just chasing them. Like any tap, you have to be careful and go in the hole perfectly and make sure to not put too much stress on when turning. I'd recommend these to anyone who is looking for a decent taps set. They look cool, too, which is a bonus.

I haven't used these much yet, but I needed some for replacements in my 3D printer tool kit.The set it self looks well enough, nice clean spiral flutes. I wouldn't push these into anything hardened but they should work for my needs, mostly chasing 3D printed threads, but I wouldn't be afraid to run these into cast iron or some aluminum if the chips will clear.

If you want to try power tapping, my experience is that you should really use spiral flute bits. The straight flutes are ok for hand tapping, but the staggered cutting edge engagement makes the tapping operations more efficient and reliable. I have yet to break a spiral tap. Recommended

These things seem to stand up to anything without deforming. I'm very impressed. The spiral fluting is also fantastic for clearing chips, so I can usually get a hope tapped in one go. Really nice product.
