I'm working on my 1951 Chevy deluxe and have broken two bolts. Removing the broken bolts were a pain, and messed up the threads. This kit had everything I needed to rethread the holes and it was extremely easy to do. A must have in any garage.

They cut great. The speed and ease of the ratcheting handle works amazingly, it’s variety for the price is awesome the sizes included cover most of what you would see everyday aside from specialty application. And I would say it’s pretty durable I’ve drilled a lot of steel with the drill bits and I’ve never broken a tap or drill bit. The only thing I would critique is the storage section for the tap and die handle is pretty poor, it opens a lot of the time and the tap and die handle all fall out. Other than that everything in the box stays organized.Keep in mind I’m a metal fabricator and have had this set for 2 years only replaced drill bits that have lost their sharpness after hard work

I've used these with plastic and soft metal, and they have worked well so far. I haven't used them in steel yet and cannot comment yet. Screws do have some play in the tapped holes but they are able to tighten up without stripping.

Had some modifications done on my car recently and one part I loved did not work on the new settings. Had to modify it to make work, tried few other options and came over this set. Well, worked very well for me and now I'm using the shifter knob that did not fit after the mods. I used cutting oil and had to drill and tap, this set worked good for me. If you know what to do and how to use tools, buy it. Not sure how long will last, but how many times you have to do it at home? Good deal here. For less than $10.00 save a $110.00 shifter knob.

I’ve messed around with smaller sets and never seemed to have all the sizes I needed. This thing is awesome. All the sizes you could need and a really good case too. Well built kit. If you need a tap a die set, spend the money and get this full set. Everything is in one place that saves mucking around for the right size. It’s really nice threads so far.

The M12-1.75 tap that I needed to make threads for bolts doesn't even cut, so I went and bought another one and it did the job well..! The kit is very nice but no quality and the metal that i'm doing hole is only regular metal...!

As a hobbyist who makes or modifies various cases for things like electronic nixie tube clocks etc, I find I often have to make threaded holes to screw in pillars as mounts for small boards and suchlike, This can be a pain if you don’t have the right sized drill or tap to work with, so I was grateful to be able to order the toolant M3 x 0.5 Tap and Die Set with 2.5mm Drill Bit as that is one of the common sizes for the mounts or bolts I use. The set is supplied in a small cardboard box which is branded through a label which also has the size printed on it for reference. Inside the box is a small press-seal plastic bag which contains the tap, die and the correct drill bit to use for tapping out the hole once drilled. All of the components in the set are very clearly labelled and appear machined to a quality finish – they are not branded as such but do look the part. Having used this one for a recent task I feel they are a good addition to my DIY toolset. I do not have a price at this time as none is displayed so cannot comment on the value proposition of the set.

I have had Toolant tools before and I will say I think they are brilliant. Although this review is in reference to the M3 x 0.5 tap and die set complete with the correct size drill that should be used, I needed to replace all my taps as they were all getting past it, some missing, some blunt etc. over a couple of days I ordered one of each size between M3 and M12 so this review applies to all of them. As is the usual standard with Toolant tools these are made from high quality steel. Having already used the M5 tap, M8 tap and die to create new threads and the M8 die to clear an existing thread. All the cutting edges are very sharp and make the work very easy. Once the hole was taped, the bolts I used from my own stock ran in and out smoothly, there was no slack between the thread of the bolt and the thread of the tapped hole. At this point I want to point out that although I am calling this a set, it's not. It's a collection of 10 taps, dies and drills I have put together in one box. As they are sold individually by their metric size you don't get a tap wrench or a die stock, I have used existing ones I already had. I am very happy to highly recommend all these drills, taps and dies.
