This tool is effective if you know how to use it. You must take the time to analyze each piece and label them properly to be successful. I used the tool to remove my trailing arm bushings, differential bushings, and all of the subframe bushings. Unfortunately, the rod bent during the removal of the last differential bushing, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars for product quality. I'd be willing to pay more if the quality were improved.

Used this tool for every rear arm bushing on an E46. This removes the bushings pretty effectively and installed 2 of the 3 just as effectively. The bottom bushing was the only one I had to smack it in the last 10-20% bit because I couldn't figure out what combo would give enough room to use the tool as intended, pic in review of how I'd set it up for the last bit to hammer it in (pic 1 for install, pic 2 for removal). The RTAB big bushing was a breeze (pic 3 for install). The pic shows the toothed arm backwards, which was necessary for install bc the rod was not long enough to fit everything together. Once the bushing was pressed in about halfway, then you disassemble and flip the toothed part, just like it's oriented when removing the old bushing. The RTAB has two halves that kind of press separately just a bit. Use a hose clamp to compress the bushing before pressing. Move the hose clamp up a bit once the bushing is started and in about 10mm.Top ball joint was easy (pic 4 for install). I'm not sure I used the right combo but the combo in pic 4 got it about 90% there. Then I'd change to a different receiver end, requires some brain power. The top ball joint required the notched part of the tool for removal and installation (seen in pic 4). The bottom bushing only needed this notched bit for installation (don't have a pic).Instructions are completely useless, but just take a minute and figure out what pusher and receiver will work best for the circumference of bushing you're using. They're all there to get these 3 bushings removed and installed. Grease the threads of the rod you're using, and grease the bearings of the nut that you use for all the steps.

Works well for euro vehicles. The threaded rod tends to bend but that quality is expected at this price. Other then that it's easy to use just not very durable.

As others have said the instructions are not that great, but it doesn't matter too much because I was able to arrange all the pieces to get every single bushing out and in just figuring it out. The threads on the threaded rod and the nut with ball bearings eventually stripped but the company was great and I got a replacement. I haven't found any comparable product for rent at AutoZone or advanced Auto parts or any place like that, they all seem to be the wrong size.

Bought this kit to replace the front most trailing arm bushings on my E46 and was able to get each side out in about 5-10 minutes each. Instructions are not great but it isn’t difficult to piece together. Only thing it doesn’t work on is the diff bushings, but works for everything on the trailing arm / rear knuckle. Worth the money to save yourself a headache pounding the old bushings out.

Let’s talk about the bees knees here. You search any bimmer forum about bushings and bearings, people get so intricate on getting them out. Yeah no… stop all this burning and drilling and cutting. This $80 kit made changing every bushing and bearing a literal 5 mins job. Wanna upgrade your rear knuckle to new ball joints? 5 mins. Wanna do RTABs and upgrade them to the BW mono ball joint? 5 mins. It takes longer to disassemble your car than it is for this kit to press in and out your new stuff. Wanna do your diff bushings, both rears and front? Literally, 5 mins. This kit is worth its weight and gold and is an absolutely must have for any E36 DIYer. Wanna do front LCA bushings? You guessed it, 5 mins :D I can’t recommend this kit enough. Please don’t pay $200 plus with other companies. This kit is less than half the cost and is so well built, I could probably build 20-30 E36 suspensions. Thank you for making one of the worse jobs I was anticipating, into the fastest job on my project E36.

I purchased this kit to replace trailing arm bushings on my 2008 Z4. I bought it over others in case I need to replace other bushings in the future. If I was only ever planning on replacing RTABs I'd probably go for a dedicated tool. The tool got the job done but I think it would have been faster and easier with a dedicated tool. My car has 76k miles on it and is rust free so the tool didn't have too much trouble breaking the bushings loose. It did take some fumbling to figure out the right configuration of parts. Based on the reviews I didn't even bother looking at the directions included with the kit.We had a problem with our first bushing not going in straight. The two halves of the bushing did were not aligned. This kit pushes on the rubber outer portions of the bushing for install which is not ideal. We ended up using some washers placed between the tool and the non-rubber portions of the bushing to help it install straight. We had a problem with the thrust bearing/nut. The nut part protruded through the bearing a bit too much, making the bearing ineffective. Fortunately we realized we could use an axle washer off our BMW motorcycle to create a gap between the two...then the thrust bearing worked great.

Had the wrong instructions included in the case. They don't have current instructions available, so they gave me a link for a video. Used it to try to replace rear bushings on my E36 M3, and due to the way it pushed it in, it destroys them by poping the grease parts. I would rate it lower, but can't do Zero stars.
