What is ABS?
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is a plastic used for its versatility in making keyboards, luggage cases, and other types of impact-resistant products. It is reasonably strong at high and low temperatures. It is strong and rigid even when it is used heavily. For these reasons, it is commonly used for all types of helmets across a wide range of sports and is a go-to for Tontron for maximum safety and usability.
What is EVA?
EVA (Ethylene-vinyl acetate) is a foam that is ideal for making helmets more impact resistant and can provide bouyancy so that the paddling helmet is easy to retrieve.
Size Adjustment Dial
Dial is designed with a large-size gripable pattern to increase ergonomic comfort and ease of use.
Dial Protective Cushion
All Tontron watersport helmets have a protective cushioning as a part of the design to relieve stress and strain on the back of the head and neck.
Chin Protective Pad
A standard on Tontrons paddling helmets is protective chin padding meant to relieve strain on the chin and jaw when dropping into rough water.
Strap
A Y-Strap design (17mm) which is an ideal design for stabilizing the helmet from rocking to far forward or backward. A Retention strap system can also withstand abrasive wear and tear and is waterproof per 7.7(Whitewater CE 1385 Standard).

Fits well without ear pads and looks great. with ear pads installed ears touch but it is still wearable. I will keep but continue to seek the perfect helmet for myself, paying more if needed. Edit. This helmet saved my life and after you get used to it, you forget you are wearing it.stars. quickly. 5 stars.

I kayak several times a month and this helmet has kept my head in one piece many of times. Comfortable, adjustable, performance, lightweight and affordable. I definitely recommend PPE for all outdoor activities!

This is a great fit and color, we purchased the orange. My son is a guide at the local Whitewater rafting park, and when we visit, I can pick him out of the entire crowd lol! Thank you for making such a bright orange color.

This will be the third helmet I bought, the first two will need to be returned. The Retrospec Dakota was sized way too small, I could not get past the top of my head. The outdoor master was ridiculously large, and quality wise, It was very thin flexible, and would not trust my head in it if I ever to hit a hard object. I am very happy with the quality of this helmet, and the fit, which is very accurate. As previously stated this helmet is not the most comfortable, but I have ordered helmet padding to add to it, and should be just fine.

I use this helmet for wing foiling and in my opinion you get a great level of protection for a cost that is a bargain compared to some of the other aquatic helmets. My helmet has already absorbed a direct contact with the foil and probably saved me a very expensive trip to the hospital. Materials seem to be good quality and I like that the helmet adjusts because it allows me to fit a brimmed hat underneath the helmet without sacrificing a good fit. As with anything used in salt water, I wash mine off after each use in freshwater when I rinse my wetsuit and other gear

I bought the recommend size and it was like putting my head in a vise. Even with ear pieces removed, it was brutal and pinched my forehead. There are no pads to adjust fit. Nice helmet, but I had to return.

I often have a hard time finding helmets that will fit my big XL head, but this one is great.It's very comfortable and I'm looking forward to adding the Salamander visor to it, that I ordered at the same time.The only thing I did to the helmet was to remove the ear covers. I like to be able to clearly hear my VHF radio and sailing buddies when on the water, and I'm concerned the covers might hinder that a little.Fortunately they pop right out.Now I don't have to worry about the boom splitting my head open during an accidental jibe.I also like that it covers so much of my skull and should be good for shading my head from the sun, while the vents keep things cool.I'll edit this review after I've had a chance to use it on the water.

Ordered a Large Tontron, matte warm red helmet I am so very pleased. 1). I needed large helmet and this fit perfectly with the adjustable knob to tighten or loosen. I sometimes wear my hair down and other times, with a high ponytail. This helmet fit both ways, very comfortably. 2). The side straps are very adjustable. I adjusted the chin strap FORWARD, so it was AWAY from my neck and securely under my chin. Then I adjusted the length of the strap and neatly tucked away the excess in the chin strap pad. So neat and clean looking. I also adjusted side strap so that everything was symmetrical and neat. Once all that was adjusted to my face shape, I then turned the knob in the back of the helmet and I had the BEST, most perfect custom fit helmet. So I am very pleased and happy I made this purchase. Also, I like that you can remove the ear covers. My ears must be a bit large because the pressure from the helmet on my ears, was very uncomfortable. So I removed the covers altogether and then it was the most perfect, comfortable helmet. The appearance is perfect. I am pleased with the color. Matte warm red which looks more orange-red or Coral and it’s pleasing to the eye. I wanted to be easily spotted and this color is perfect for me. I think with the hard shell, I am well protected. And love the soft cushion padding on the inside. Excellent air/water vents. Took the time to write this because for me this was a great find!!!

Lots of padding for comfort, good amount of open vents for airflow (and presumably water flow), removable ear pads, knob on the back to adjust the helmet size. Overall, really comfortable and I paired it with the removable Tontron visor so the sun isn’t blinding me. My head diameter is about 22.5” and the medium fit well. Oh, and my sunglasses fit well/comfortably underneath it too.

Tip top Helm zu diesem Preis, verwendet beim Kiten und Wakeboarden. Die Größe entspricht den Herstellerangaben. Etwas schade,dass die Ohrenschützer nur gesteckt sind aber das ist verkraftbar,deshalb ein Stern Abzug. In der Regel erfolgt die Befestigung per Druckknopf. Ein Helm mit dieser weichen Innenpolsterung findet man nur bei Protec zum deutlich höheren Preis. Wer einmal hart auf dem Wasser gestürzt ist, weiß das weiche Polster zu schätzen. Meiner Meinung nach sind die meisten Wassersporthelme ungeeignet,die verwendeten Schäume sind zu hart, sie eignen sich für Harte Gegenstände wie Beton, Asphalt oder Obstacles.
