I purchased this hot spot for less than I would pay at T-Mobile. Ever since I made the purchase its been a nightmare. The connection is terrible and then I get a text that I'm out of data when I barely used the device. I spend more time trying to get it to connect than using data. I believe this hot spot is refurbished, used or something going on with it. I thought I got a great deal but I came up short when I needed data at the most crucial times. Not good speed, not good performance, not a good value, not ease of use. The size is pocket size and that's the only thing good about it.

I purchased this as an upgrade to my malfunctioning Franklin T9 after a few years of use. This was a more affordable option compared to buying directly from T-Mobile, which would charge $100 or more for the unit. The new device works as expected!

The SIM card is very difficult to remove. However, I was able to get it out by pushing from the back side with a staple. I had to hold the staple with needle nose pliers to get the angle and pressure just right. It seems like they intentionally designed it to be easy to insert but difficult to remove.Despite the sim card issue, I'm going to give this four stars anyway, because I was able to able to get it set up fairly easily with a tello sim card (which I bought on amazon for $2) and it all seems working fine. I'm not sure if the original sim card would have even actually worked. It says "activate by 10/29/2023" on the paperwork, which is almost five months ago.

I bought this to replace my Verizon hotspot. I loved that hotspot but they wouldn't budge on their price. They wanted $50 a month. I didn't use it much so I thought pay as you go would be perfect for me. The review I went by said all you have to do is buy a sim card and buy a card when you want to use it.When I got it, the sim card was expired. I contacted T-Mobile many times and they don't offer pay as you go with that hotspot.I ended up switching to T-Mobile and now I only pay $5 a month. I got the sim card free. However, the one thing I didn't understand was why would I use this when I have a hotspot on my phone. The guy at the T-Mobile store told me it's not really worth it.I'm keeping it anyway to see how it works when I travel.

I've been a T Mobile customer for probably 20 years now on a very old (and VERY inexpensive $) "pay as you go" type phone plan. The only problem with this plan has been that data (roaming wi fi) can't be added to it. It's a "phone service only" type plan. I've been able to use it on a smart phone and connect to home wi-fi but when out and about it was very inconvenient to be without. And of course I don't want to change phone plans which would cost sooooo much more than I pay. NOW I've discovered I can just get this mobile hotspot and have wi-fi where-ever I go!!!! I got this and it works great! For my situation I did need to purchase a monthly data plan from T-Mobile which is around $10/month but I think it is well worth it!

This is exactly what was listed and exactly what I needed. The Franklin T10 hotspot. All you have to do is go to TMobile and get a SIM card activated - it’s 10 for the sim and I chose a prepaid plan cuz I only need this for a trip. They have like 30gb of hotspot service for $40 bucks. You can put it on a normal monthly plan too. But I prefer prepaid since I only need something like this for trips and stuff. It activated great and works nicely. I recommend this since it’s functional and also cheaper than buying a brand new one.

Update- had problem with battery staying in place-also starting dropping connections. This works but it may not be the fastest. I used this for wireless security cameras and smart plugs. After reading all the reviews I still was not sure if this would work for me. It did with no problems. I think my speed are like 7mb, so it all depends on what you need it for. I just wanted something that would stay connected. My iPhone would cut out after a day. Make sure you go into the router and turn off sleep mode if you need to keep thing’s connected, it not they will cut out after 10 min.
