I understand that this is marketed as a sanitary napkin receptacle, but there's no reason it can't serve as a regular trash bin or for composting.I'm currently using it in my kitchen for food scraps, and it fits my needs perfectly. The can has a nice shiny appearance, although it does tend to show fingerprints. The lid can be a bit stiff, often needing a little extra effort to open or close completely. While it's on the smaller side, that's exactly what I was looking for. It's also quite sturdy and well-constructed, so I would definitely recommend it.

This is a small trashcan so don't expect it to hold a lot.We specifically got it for our guest bathroom which it is a good enough size for bathroom garbage to be thrown in it.We will probably empty it once a week and that should be sufficient enough.The look and design of it is nice and looks good in our bathroom.We like it even though it is smaller than we had thought.
