How to use the Tiny Trim to release matted fur
Start by isolating a clump to cross-cut, be sure to cut well above your pet's skin.

Feel below the clump and above the skin
Cut the clump vertically above your grip.

Gently untangle the remaining fur.
Pulling in equal and opposite directions. Also give your pet a break with some praise.

Now give the fur some time to unwind.
Great Job! Remember the goal is your pet's comfort. You aren't trying to REMOVE the matted fur, but RELEASE it. It might look messy at first and that's OK.

The best dog shears I have found. Sharp but have a rounded tip.No worries about nicking my dog even cutting around his eyes and face. Very sturdy. I would not hesitate to purchase again.

I take my small dogs (a shih tzu, poodle mix, and terrier mix) to the groomer regularly. However, I sometimes need to clean them up a little in-between visits. Especially in the face. I can't stand the idea of hair getting into the dog's eyes (probably because I think of how it makes me feel myself). So now and then I find I need to touch them up a little myself.I was using a pair of "standard" scissors that I keep around the house for utility purposes, but it made me so nervous because they were big and probably scary-looking to my little girls. My husband got me these, and they are wonderful! Very sharp, but the smaller size and blunt point give me much more confidence when I have to trim around my girl's faces. I'm sure they appreciate it too!I would definitely buy these again!

These scissors have been an absolute godsend to help trim matted fur from our long-haired and nervous rescue cat. The mats were near his tail, and no way was he going to let me try to use a standard de-matting tool or a comb, or even my fingers, to try to tease the mats apart. With these scissors (and with the cat distracted by a plate of his favourite food!) I was easily able to cut through the mats and get rid of almost all of them (didn't want to cut right next to the skin just in case), and he has now been able to finish off the job by himself. Highly recommended!

Excellent product. My three dogs are extremely sensitive about having their faces trimmed back, usually ending in them making a lot of noiseand me not getting the result required! However since I have used these incredible scissors all three dogs have let me trim back close to their eyes, nose and chin. The scissors are quiet, sharp and very easy to use. I don't have to worry when working near their eyes as the little balls on the end of the scissors mean the blades don't go anywhere near their eyes so therefore not as frightening. I bought two pairs and gave one to my daughter for trimming her two dogs and she loves them as well and can't believe how easy they are to use. Great product with great price. I will definitely recommend them. Well Done Scaredy Cut!!

We have a yorkie mix (around 10 lbs) and although we try to get her groomed on a fairly regular basis, the hair around her face grows at a lightening speed. It's way too expensive to have to take her in every time her facial hair gets a little long, so we decided to trim it ourselves.Initially we tried regular scissors but our dog gets really squirmy so we were really concerned putting sharp objects near her eyes. I came across these scissors and decided to give them a shot.These are wonderful!!1) They are SMALL enough for facial trimming and maneuver easily2) They are SHARP so the trimming can be done quickly (best for all involved)3) They are SAFE and I am no longer so worried about accidentally hurting our dog4) They are INEXPENSIVE and I no longer have to pay a fortune to take her to the groomer every couple of weeksThe ONLY reason I gave them 4 starts instead of 5 is because I ordered them in pink, but was sent a blue pair. Not a huge deal but since there is the option to choose, I had to knock off one star. I still would highly recommend these to anyone!***5/18/16 UPDATE*** After writing my review, I was contacted by Scaredy Cut. They very graciously sent me a complimentary pink pair of scissors to make up for mistakenly being sent the blue pair. Due to their excellent customer service, I am now giving these scissors 5 stars!

Purchased these because of the nice reviews. How could so many people be so wrong! They feel nice and well made, however in cutting ability they proved substandard. Tried them on two dogs: one with coarse hair and one with fine hair with very poor results. The hair moves between the two cutting blades without proper cutting producing inaccurate cuts with the need for many more cuts, never getting it right. My hands were getting very tired and my patience and the dogs' would not hold up to this! The screw appeared to be adjusted properly and there does not seem to be any damage to the blades. Went back to my old vintage scissors which I was replacing deciding that perhaps I don't need new scissors afterall since they cut without causing the hairs to move producing precise cuts, although they do lack the blunt tips. These scissors might be useful for small children's art work. I may return them as I have no use for them.UPDATE: It was very kind of the company to replace the scissors without delay and without me having to request it. I am sad to have to leave my review rating as it stands, however, as the replacement scissors' performance is not any better than the original. I was offered a refund by the company and am not being asked to return either of the scissors. That sounds like real old fashioned service to me. Much appreciated.UPDATE: I HAVE NOW RECEIVED A THIRD FREE SCISSORS! This company really wants to satisfy their customers! How refreshing. Again, I wish I could say that the third one is an improvement, but I can't. Really did want to like the third. Thank you for your efforts. Because the company is so wonderful I added a star. Wish I felt I could do more - you're just so nice.UPDATE: In all I received 5 scissors! The last 2 work well. Also received a letter stating that the scissors had been improved. They do work much better. Therefore, I have added 2 stars.
