Sound quality is more for a child's toy than a musical addition. I had a larger heavier one for many years but lost in fire and replaced it with this. Will be looking for another more professional - which is heavier, larger, and tonal range which is conducive to what I am searching for.

Not bad.. but not great either. I like it ok, and will continue to use, but wouldn't buy again. I'd spend just a couple dollars more and get a better looking and better sounding product next time. The ones I use in one of the yoga studios has a much better sound and looks prettier as well.

I like the sound of these - bold, bright and gradually fades away to a hum. I got these for my child to play with and they fit the bill but know others use these for yoga, meditation, etc. For my purposes these work--they are sturdy, attached so the 2 cymbals can't be separated and lost, and clang cheerfully. The metal is thick and yet the sound is clear and good.

These are beautifully made cymbals, but produce only a faint sound. Perhaps that’s the nature of these; I can’t say because I was not familiar with them. I guess I expected a louder, more noticeable tone.

This item arrived in bubble wrap that was SOLIDLY taped together, so it is FULLY protected lol. You'll need a real sharp object to cut THAT open!Upon unwrapping, you'll find a very simple object - two brass cymbals, each about 2.5 inches across, connected by a thin leather cord, tied in a simple knot beneath either cymbal. The best way I found to use this is to hold the cord in one hand, draped over the palm, and tilt the palm slightly to clink the cymbals together. They make a nice clear TING noise, somewhere between a small metal windchime and a mini Tibetan Singing Bowl. If you dislike metal windchimes, as I do, you may find these more palatable.Mine did come with with a few streaks of green tarnish. That's a good sign, actually, means it's truly made of brass! Since copper is one of the ingredients of brass, and copper tarnishes to green when exposed to water. (Ever seen a green-blue crust on a penny? Probably went thru the wash in someone's pocket.) So I searched it up - a good way to get rid of green metal tarnish on copper is to scrub the area with salt. Literally just an old toothbrush, and a big pile of table salt. There's other methods, like combining flour, salt, and cream of tartar, and some water, and make a paste. Even using Ketchup! Just be sure to really DRY the brass after scrubbing off the tarnish.I'll be using this for meditation, to reset my internal chatter if it gets especially distressing, and a bonus I learned - it can be used to call someone from a few rooms away! The high pitch seems to cut thru the usual hum of electric appliances and wind outside and even music playing. The benefit of an unusual, unexpected sound!
